Brighton Hove And Albion Slaps Outrageous Price on Players

Brighton Hove and Albion

Brighton Hove and Albion appear to have officially taken over as the talent conveyor belt for the top-four clubs. And cashing in handsomely. Over the years, the English Premier League has had clubs that served as feeder clubs for their more illustrious counterparts. In the early 2000s, Leeds United was the launch pad for the likes of Robbie Fowler, Rio Ferdinand, and Olivier Dacourt. In the late 2000s and 2010s Southampton transformed budding talents like Gareth Bale, Sadio Mané, and Virgil Van Dijk into Ballon d’Or contenders.

Brighton Hove and Albion Scouting Champs

Arsenal snatched away Brighton’s defender Ben White in the summer of 2021. They returned to East Sussex two years later to pinch disgruntled Forward Leandro Trossard. A few months after they lost the enigmatic Belgian, they lost another midfield jewel. Alexis Mac Allister departed for Anfield becoming a key member of a squad now poised to win the EPL title. During the same transfer window, Brighton sold yet another highly rated midfielder, this time to Chelsea FC.

Moisés Caicedo is now a permanent fixture in Enzo Maresca’s starting 11. A season earlier, the Blues hooked away Marc Cucurella and Tottenham Hotspurs bagged Yves Bissouma. You get the idea. If there was a trophy for talent scouting, it should be sitting in a cabinet at The Albion. How they keep unearthing diamonds in the rough and polishing them into glistening marketable gems should be a PhD study.

Take Them, But It Will Cost You

Every transfer window sees a line of illustrious suitors waving fat checks at The Seagulls’ gates eager to sign a prized player. July is still a few months away, but there are already clubs salivating over Brighton Hove and Albion players. Cameroonian Carlos Baleba has caught the eye this season, proving a more than apt replacement for Caicedo. The same club that took away the Colombian wants to swoop in for the 21-year-old defensive-mid.

Baleba is not the only Brightonian causing a stir in the transfer market. Brazilian Forward João Pedro is also in demand. Title favorites Liverpool and Newcastle United FC are reported to be keen on the Brighton number 9’s signature. The Seagulls are not letting their prime assets go without a fight. Any club desiring to add Pedro or Baleba to their player rotation should be prepared to break the bank. And top up with a kidney or two.

That Will Be $100 Million Please

Brighton Hove and Albion have slapped a price tag of 100 million pounds ($130 million) on each of the players. It won’t be the first time they are selling a player for that much. Caicedo cost Chelsea almost $145 million. Besides their strong displays this season, both players being in their early 20s is further justification for the extravagant pricing. Should Brighton Hove and Albion’s demands be met, you can rely on them to find sturdier replacements by the start of next season.
