The LSU Tigers had a season that they hope to forget about. But a lot of the fallout included one of their key acquisitions for the 2023–2024 season. Unfortunately for the program, she has elected to move on and is looking to revive her prospects.
This isn’t to say that she is now seen as a bad player or that she wouldn’t be one of the top picks in the 2025 draft. Instead, her stock took something of a hit, and she will look to enhance any outlook that professional suitors will have around this time next year.
But do you think that the latest move is what’s best for her long-term?
Ex-LSU Tigers Player Moving On
Hailey Van Lith is transferring from the LSU Tigers to the TCU Horned Frogs. The backcourt player will have one year of eligibility remaining. It’s hard to blame her for leaving Baton Rouge. As mentioned, things did not exactly go well for her or the team this season.

This is why the move and, ultimately, the decision should not surprise anyone. Reports initially came from Talia Goodman, a woman’s basketball insider for Peegs.com. Once released on social media, multiple outlets confirmed it shortly after.
What Went Wrong For the LSU Tigers
When evaluating this past year for both her and the LSU Tigers, this ultimately needs to be a season that is quickly forgotten and washed away as much as possible from the minds and memories of people.
Especially when you consider how well this LSU team played last year, it’s hopeful that everyone involved will be able to bounce back from what has been largely a disappointing season for them. Luckily, this fresh start should serve the purpose of starting brand new and on the right foot, as intended.
Former LSU Tigers Player Turning To TCU
It’s highly likely that the pressure of expectations and knowing how much media attention this team received was too much. This is not a reflection on anyone in particular. Simply put, and as a matter of fact, it looked like everyone from the head coach to those on the roster had a hard time dealing with some of the aspects and elements that come with immense pressure and scrutiny.
It’s unknown what things will look like away from the LSU Tigers, but Van Lith expects to have a personal bounceback season.
