Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals was a story of individual performances and injuries. However, the Boston Celtics managed to come away with the win. Now, the Indiana Pacers will have to find a way to bounce back in their home arena in Game 3.
Game 2 was close at first. There were over ten lead changes by the start of the 2nd quarter. However, the Celtics went on a run to bring their lead up to 16 points just midway through the 2nd quarter. The score at halftime was
The Indiana Pacers tried to make a comeback and nearly pulled it off. They managed to diminish the Celtics’ lead to only 2 points midway through the 3rd quarter. However, the Celtics were not going to allow the Pacers to take the lead.
Boston Celtics Capitalize On Missing Pacers Star
The Celtics managed to go on another run in the 3rd quarter. However, with under 4 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton left the game with apparent left leg soreness. This gave the Celtics an even bigger edge, and they managed to end the 3rd quarter with a 15-point lead.
Things were not looking bright for the Pacers as they hoped for a comeback in the 4th quarter. In fact, it seemed nearly impossible without the presence of Haliburton. The Celtics went on to extend their highest lead of the game to a staggering 20 points. The game ended with a score of 126 to 110.
Jaylen Brown Ties Playoff Career High
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown tied his career playoff high in points with an amazing performance. He scored a total of 40 points. He shot 14 for 27 from the field. Twelve of his points came from 3-pointers, and 8 points came from the free-throw line.
Brown has really stepped up this series. In Game 1, he scored 26 points and hit a clutch 3-pointer that sent the game to overtime. After having such a great first game, it seems he is playing with a new level of confidence in himself. It will be interesting to see if he keeps this up for the rest of the series.
