The Denver Broncos have officially named rookie quarterback Bo Nix as the Broncos week 1 starter. Broncos head coach Sean Payton announced on Wednesday in a press conference that their 12th overall pick had won the starting job. Nix has had an impressive showing thus far in the preseason. The former University of Oregon quarterback will make his first NFL start on September 8th in Seattle against the Seahawks.
Bo Nix Wins Starting QB Job
Bo Nix has far and away been the most impressive QB in the Broncos training camp. He won the starting job over quarterbacks Jarred Stidham and Zach Wilson. Coach Sean Payton said Nix “has been outstanding” shortly after announcing him as the week 1 starter in his press conference today.
In his two preseason games, Nix has put up efficient numbers. He has thrown for 205 yards on a 77% completion percentage, with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. At Oregon, Nix set the highest completion percentage in college football history for a season with a 77% completion percentage.
