Bayern Munich is committed to retaining their sought-after forward Jamal Musiala, according to club president Herbert Hainer. At just 21 years old, Musiala is celebrated as one of Europe’s most promising young talents and has already made a significant impact both with Bayern and the German national team.
After his youth career with Southampton and Chelsea, Musiala joined Bayern Munich in 2019 and made his senior debut for the club in 2020 at the age of 17. Since then, he has accumulated 166 first-team appearances for Bayern, scoring 44 goals and providing 31 assists, including 12 goals and eight assists in 38 matches last season.

Musiala, who excels as an attacking midfielder or winger, was a standout performer for Germany at Euro 2024 with three goals to his name. He also scored in Bayern’s 3-2 victory over Wolfsburg in the opening match of the new Bundesliga season.
Despite being a key player in Vincent Kompany’s Bayern squad, speculation about Musiala’s future persists, particularly as he has less than two years remaining on his contract. Although he was surprisingly left off the Ballon d’Or shortlist, he remains a target for several top European clubs, including Manchester City, who are reportedly keen to secure his signature in 2025.
Hainer has expressed a strong desire to keep Jamal Musiala, likening him to long-serving Bayern legend Thomas Muller. In an interview with journalist Mano Bonke for German news outlet Tz, Hainer stated, “We want to do everything we can to keep him for as long as possible. I believe he could become the next Thomas Muller and play for FC Bayern for the next 20 years.”

Musiala is attracting interest from Manchester City. However, the 21-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy also has several other potential suitors, including Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, who are all looking to secure his services next year.
These elite European clubs have been tracking Musiala’s development at Bayern Munich for some time. Recent reports indicate that while Musiala finds Manchester City an appealing option, Barcelona and Real Madrid also offer strong incentives.
Manchester City would benefit from Musiala’s talent, particularly as Kevin De Bruyne ages. Barcelona could use him to strengthen their attack, while Real Madrid’s interest makes sense given Luka Modric’s advancing years. Arsenal, too, could use Musiala’s versatility, as he excels both on the wings and in central positions, making him a valuable target for them.

Bayern Munich, however, is expected to put up a strong fight to retain Musiala, with contract discussions likely to start soon. It will be interesting to see if any of these European giants can persuade Musiala to leave Bayern Munich next year.
