Bayern Munich just completed a lucrative deal that sees them obtain another defender for their team so they can continue winning the Bundesliga and have the hopes of reaching the final of the Champions League next season. Although they fell short in some aspects this past year, they still performed well in other competitions and domestic games.

Their latest signing will not only bolster their ranks but also provide more security in the back line to keep clean sheets and help prevent unnecessary goals.

Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in Germany, so they can afford to pay just over $30 million for one of the best defenders in the league. Hiroki Ito, who is currently playing at their rival VfB Stuttgart, has signed for the Bavarian side for a low transfer fee.

Hiroki, a talented Japanese center-back, just transferred from Stuttgart to Bayern this past week. The tactical and technical defender is coming up on the prime of his career. At just 25 years old, he has already made a name for himself in the Bundesliga and his experience in the leagues shows in his dominating performances and captivating leadership.

Plus, the club doesn’t have to worry about him retiring any time soon. In his mid-20s, Hiroki is primed to take on a leadership role at the German club that will see him in Bayern until at least 2028. But, Stuttgart is surprised that the defender has already left. He signed with VfB just two years ago from the professional team in Japan, Jubilo Iwata, prompting a surprise transfer that shocked the board and the club.

Ready To Start Winning

However, Hiroki Ito is excited to move to Bayern Munich and make an impact on his new team. In a statement he shared the following:

It’s a great honor for me to be able to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to play my part in FC Bayern winning a lot of trophies.

Hiroki began his career at Jubilo Iwata in Japan, making nearly 60 appearances and scoring four goals for his club in four seasons. During his time in the J. He also went on loan to Nagoya Grampus and VfB Stuttgart, which later became his official team for the 2022-2024 seasons. During his time at Stuttgart, Hiroki made 56 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

He has also represented his country’s national team at the youth and senior level, earning 19 caps for the Japan national team since his first appearance in 2022.

Bayern Munich are looking to do better domestically and internationally next season. And with signing Hiroki, the entire club and board are excited to gain another high-level player who can help the team win games. The club’s sporting director, Max Erberl, had nothing but praise for the incoming center-back.

Hiroki has everything that we want: he’s a player who embraces challenges, overcomes them, and continues to make his way. Hiroki is tall, aggressive, has a strong left foot, an excellent passing game, and is versatile in defense because he can play on both the left side as well as centrally. He’ll really strengthen us right away.

Bayern will hope to do better than last year, when they ended up in third place, falling short to Stuttgart by just one point.
