Baron Corbin Out at WWE; Reports Indicate Hartwell, Nox Gone

WWE, Baron Corbin, Big E

WWE pro wrestler Baron Corbin is reportedly no longer connected with the promotion if what Corbin posted on social media Friday is any indication. There has been no confjrmation from WWE itself about Corbin’s status. Reports also indicate that women’s wrestlers Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox have also been given their releases.

Corbin has been with the promotion for more than a decade. He spent time in NXT, WWE’s developmental promotion, and managed to find significant time as an on-air wrestler. Corbin played both a “heel” (bad guy) and a “face” (good guy) during his time there. He also received pretty solid reviews for his work in the ring while WWE taped programs in its Thunderdome space.

Baron Corbin Posts Goodbye Video

On Friday, Corbin posted this video to his X/Twitter account. It’s pretty evident that he’s saying thank you to fans and fellow wrestlers for his time with them.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select indicates that Corbin, Hartwell, and Nox are the only WWE releases expected at this time. WWE has been known to release a number of pro wrestlers at one time. Having a list this short is pretty surprising for the promotion. Also, the timing is interesting since WWE is focused on its “Crown Jewel” show in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Fightful Select also reported that Corbin was given notice by WWE that his contract would expire and he would not be re-signed.

Hartwell and Nox have had extended runs in NXT. Hartwell’s most recent social media post had a Halloween theme to it. She was sharing screen time with Chelsea Green as Hartwell dressed up like Green for Halloween. In the video, Hartwell can be seen trying to mimic Green’s persona and mannerisms.

Nox was sidelined for a period of time a few years ago with a serious knee injury. Upon her return to NXT, fans celebrated and gave her a warm welcome back.

WWE Fans Wish Pro Wrestlers Well

Wrestling fans took to social media, sharing their memories and best wishes for all three pro wrestlers. When WWE releases pro wrestlers, depending on their contract status, most of them have a 90-day non-compete clause. This means they are not able to sign with other promotions during this time. Of course, this doesn’t keep them from reaching out or talking with others out there.

Some fans might want Corbin, Hartwell, and Nox to show up in All-Elite Wrestling (AEW). Owner and head booker Tony Khan has been known to spend money pretty freely on available talent. Just this week on AEW’s premier show “Dynamite,” former WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley made his first appearance. Lashley aligned himself with MVP and Shelton Benjamin, also former WWE talents themselves. In WWE, they were known as “The Hurt Business.”

Possible other landing points for all three include TNA Wrestling or, maybe, Maple Leaf Wrestling. MLW has former TNA booker Scott D’Amore leading it and he might think about getting one or two of these wrestlers lined up.

While Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox decide what they will do in their futures, fans can spend time watching these wrestlers’ matches thanks to the magic of YouTube.

Corbin will be a solid addition to any promotion. His work rate and career revival have received high praise. Hartwell and Nox may also receive some notice, too. Their futures are going to be worth watching.
