FC Barcelona reportedly rejected a €200 offer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the young Barcelona superstar, Lamine Yamal. Currently, PSG is looking for Kylian Mbappe’s replacement. Kylian is to wave goodbye to the club at the end of the season to join Real Madrid. Mbappe’s departure will leave the club with a €200 annual save. But at the moment the club has directed their intentions to Lamine Yamal, the 16-year-old Barcelona youngster.
Lamine Yamal
Lamine Yamal has become a key player in the Barcelona squad after scoring his sixth goal on Friday against Mallorca, in 37 appearances this season. PSG made an offer of €200 to secure the youngster for France this summer. But, despite the financial crises Barcelona is facing, they rejected the offer.
PSG was offering €200 to the Barcelona youngster. Yamal would be the second most expensive signing in history after Neymar’s 2017 signing of €222. PSG was confident that Barcelona would accept the offer, considering their current financial situation. But the Catalan club decided not to sell the youngster, and he remains at the club.
The youngster has shown impressive performance in La Liga and has captured the eyes of the PSG president. The outstanding performance brought a win to Barcelona on Friday. Lamine Yamal’s brilliant goal took the club to the third position, just one point behind Girona. Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, had a meeting with Barcelona’s president to discuss matters concerning the PSG proposal. However, despite Barcelona’s awareness of PSG’s interest in Yamal, Barcelona rejected the offer. They stated that it remains steadfast in its commitment to its youth future.

The haunt of PSG striker replacement has been raised to not only Yamal but also to other key players. For instance, Napoli’s Victor Osimen and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. Replacing Kylian Mbappe is still a headache that PSG is not ready to suffer from. Mbappe, the FIFA 2022 Golden Boot winner and currently the best striker in the world, according to many, will play his first debut game at the end of the summer to join Real Madrid in La Liga.
Mbappe has been a productive investment in PSG this season after tallying 21 goals in Ligue 1 and six goals in the UEFA Champions League this season. Kylian scored 13 goals away and eight goals at home. PSG are currently at the top of the table, 10 points ahead of Brest, after a 2–2 draw on Sunday at Princes Park.
