Barcelona confirmed that the renowned football manager, and former world’s best midfielder, Xavi Hernandez, is fired. He served his many years leading the team to wins with his unparalleled field vision, superb skills, and crisp, precise passes from 1998 to 2015. He didn’t stop at that, once he retired from playing, he became manager of his childhood team in 2021 and led them to their first league title in four years last season. Hernandez signed an extension until June 30, 2025, with an option for an additional year, in September.

The club’s president Joan Laporta has informed Xavi Hernandez that he will not be continuing as first team coach in the 2024-25 season,\ and that the 44-year-old’s last game will be their away game to Sevilla on Sunday.

The situation is far from ideal, and the way that Laporta handled it wasn’t the wisest, making him sign a contract and then make him leave, Really? The gratitude they tried to show wasn’t even enough and hadn’t done him justice. Even Sevilla manager, Quique Sanchez Flores, isn’t satisfied with the way they’re ending things with Coach Xavi and thinks he deserved better after all that Hernandez has done for the club.
