Liverpool’s 19-year-old midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has been on the watch of Salzburg. The Austrian club looks to be making good progress in securing a deal to sign the Spaniard on loan. This loan was the only option Liverpool gave, as the Reds still valued the young talented midfielder. In the latest update, it has been reported that Barcelona is planning to hijack the deal from Salzburg. However, it’ll depend on the Catalan’s financial stability and also the choice of Liverpool youngster.
Barcelona’s Offer for Bajcetic
It was earlier reported by Fabrizio Romano that the Blaugranas had submitted a loan bid for the youngster. The Italian reporter said: “Barcelona submit straight loan proposal to Liverpool for talented midfielder Stefan Bajcetic More exclusive details: loan bid worth €4m fee, NO buy clause. After a loan bid from RB Salzburg on Tuesday, now Barça tries to make it happen after Bernal injury.”
However, as it stands there are still a lot of issues that may not allow the deal to pull through for the Catalans. This is a case when the boy decides to choose Barcelona over his former assistant manager club Salzburg.
Salzburg’s Offer for Bajcetic
The Austrian club has the strongest chance of Signing Stefan Bajcetic. Salzburg had already proposed since Tuesday. And progress has been made so far in securing the Spaniard on loan. The strong demands for the deal had been influenced by Liverpool’s Ex Assistant Manager Pep Lijnders, who is the coach of Salzburg.
It was reported some hours back by Fabrizio Romano that the deal is in a very advanced stage. He said: “RB Salzburg in advanced talks to sign Stefan Bajčetić on loan from Liverpool. Negotiations are at the final stages with details to be clarified but already underway, as Pep Lijnders wants Stefan. Clubs in Spain also wanted him but RB Salzburg are now close”.
Stefan Bajcetic’s Quality
Bajcectic is a highly intelligent deep-lying midfielder, who has a lot of potential. The 19-year-old was able to prove himself for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool in the 2022/23 season. It was a season the Reds had a weakened midfield, with injuries, and out-of-form players. However, Stefan Bajcetic stepped up to the occasion performing beyond measure.
The Spaniard doesn’t look like the most built-up player, but his body movement and flexibility allow him to maneuver and keep the ball in possession well. He is also an impressive passer, and under the right development could be something worth beholding.
