Baltimore Ravens Sign DeAndre Hopkins to 1-Year Deal

The Kansas City Chiefs look to stay hopkins undefeated against the Denver Broncos. ravens

The Baltimore Ravens get their third wide receiver, this time signing veteran DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. Lamar Jackson gets a physical pass-catcher with some size, as he will be in the mix along with Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. While he is far from his old self, just look at his tenure late with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Ravens don’t have a player with his skillset.

Ravens Sign DeAndre Hopkins to 1-Year Deal

It was evident in the Super Bowl that Hopkins is 32 years old, but the Ravens decided to kick the tires on him this offseason, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He finished 2024 with the Chiefs with 56 catches, 610 yards, and 5 touchdowns. Against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, Hopkins had 2 catches on 5 targets but did catch a touchdown with 18 yards.

On a positive note, Nuke can be a red zone threat and contested catch player for Jackson. While this signing might be a year too late, regardless of what shape he is in and if he’s recovered from any ailments or injuries, DHop will definitely produce way more in 2025 than whatever Diontae Johnson gave Baltimore. The Johnson deadline trade last season was low risk but somehow ended up in the worst possible scenario where he was cut/traded a few times.

The negative side of this signing would be that he is a non-factor and doesn’t have the same juice as before. But that is obvious due to his age and how he ended last year. If they can get Week 9 Hopkins back, where he had 8 catches on 9 targets, 86 yards, but 2 touchdowns, I will take that.
