Baltimore Ravens Running Back Derrick Henry Eyes Postseason History

Baltimore Ravens Running Back Derrick Henry is on the doorstep of NFL postseason history. With 82 rushing yards tomorrow night, he will have 1,000 career playoff rushing yards which would catapult him into seventh place. If Henry can do so, he will pass John Riggins on the all-time list.

Henry turned back the clock in his first year with the Baltimore Ravens. He was second in the league in carries and rushing yards and tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns. The star running back also had a tremendous game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round. He had 186 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Will Henry be able to make postseason history as the Baltimore Ravens look to punch their ticket to the AFC Championship Game?

Baltimore Ravens Face a Tough Opponent

Baltimore travels to take on the Buffalo Bills in a marquee matchup. The teams played earlier in the year. Baltimore dominated 35-10. Henry’s performance was a determining factor in the blowout victory. He had 199 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Buffalo is projected to be frigid, but not snowy. The wind chill is expected to be around single digits for the entirety of the game.

Baltimore always leans on the run game to win, and tomorrow’s weather forecast will reinforce that point. They had the league’s best rushing attack during the regular season and rushed for a whopping 299 yards last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Buffalo also had a solid running game, but it was not as potent as Baltimore’s this season. The winner of this game will come down if Henry and Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson can impose their will on Buffalo’s defense.

Final Thoughts

Baltimore is looking to exercise its playoff demons from years past and a win in Buffalo would be a step in the right direction. Jackson is looking to play great back-to-back-playoff games for the first time in his illustrious career. If Henry can make postseason history on Sunday, it will bode well for Baltimore’s chances to leave with a victory.
