Heartfelt Moment Captured Where Babar Azam Gifts Batting Gloves To Crying Child | T20 World Cup

Babar Azam says he became concerned when his attempt to calm a child resulted in additional tears of pleasure during Pakistan’s T20 World Cup match against Canada. Pakistan captain Babar Azam stole everyone’s hearts by giving his batting gloves to a little, crying child mascot following his team’s victory over Canada in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday.

During the T20 World Cup matches against India and Canada at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York, Pakistan captain Babar Azam shared a wholesome moment with a boy. Pakistan began their campaign in Dallas, Texas, where they suffered a shock defeat to the United States, and then moved to New York for their next two matches against India and Canada, where the boy caught Babar’s eye.

Babar Azam Comforts Emotional Fan

Babar claimed he first met the youngster during the match against India. He saw him crying during the national anthem and attempted to console him.

“I met this child at the India-Pakistan match. After the song, he approached me and began to cry. I got concerned. I inquired whether anyone had mentioned anything to him.” in an interview for ICC, Babar told host Sanjana Ganeshan.

The Pakistan captain stated that the child did the same thing during the play against Canada. He did the same thing against Canada. He was standing in line, crying. This is something we’ve all experienced. When you meet a celebrity, the exhilaration is on another level.

When Sanjana, the wife of India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, inquired about his gesture of presenting his gloves to the child, Babar replied, “I thought if he is such a big fan, I should also have some responsibility to give him something as a gift.” Something unforgettable.

My gloves were in my hands. I gave that to him. He became quite delighted and began crying even more. I assured him that he didn’t have to worry. “Then, while crying, he asked me to sign it,” Babar said.

Babar Azam was relieved to have recorded their first win in the T20 World Cup on Tuesday but said they couldn’t finish their chase of 107 in fewer overs due to a challenging wicket.

Pakistan needed to win the game against Canada after losing to the United States and India in their first two Group A matches. Pakistan, chasing a small goal, won in 17.3 overs thanks to Mohammad Rizwan’s run-a-ball undefeated 53 and Babar’s 33.

“Good for us; we needed the win. We started well with the bowling; in the first six overs, we knew we had to be on top,” Babar stated at the post-match presentation ceremony.

The Men in Green eventually won their first match in the main tournament, defeating Canada by seven wickets in Match 22 at Nassau County Stadium, New York. After restricting the Canadians to 106/7, Babar and Co. knocked down the goal with 15 balls remaining, owing to Mohammad Rizwan‘s undefeated 53.

While Pakistan’s World Cup campaign began with sad losses to the United States and India, their recent success means their chances of qualifying for the Super Eight are dependent on the other team’s outcomes.
