Los Angeles Dodgers superstar and shortstop Mookie Betts had his left hand broken today during an at-bat. Betts, who was drafted back in 2011 by the Boston Red Sox, made his debut in 2014 when he was just 21 years of age. Ever since his debut, he’s put up solid numbers and has never had a season where he batted below a .260 average. This injury will hurt the Dodgers, as they will lose their 31-year-old superstar, who will likely be out for a couple of months. In all facets of sports whenever an umpire, referee, or officiator has their name known it could be for two reasons. The first could be because they blew a call that’s stuck with them for the rest of their life like when Jim Joyce ruined Armando Galarraga’s perfect game. The  Tigers started their first of three games against the Diamondbacks Friday night and were able to shutout the D-Backs, while also putting up an unlucky number of runs in the form of 13. The Tiger’s hitting and pitching were operating on all cylinders as they scored 13 runs on 17 hits and the pitching only gave up a measly 3 hits to the Diamondback’s hitters. As a Tigers fan, seeing them come back strong like this was nice…

The Detroit Tigers and the Miami Marlins finished their three-game series on Wednesday, May 15th, with the Miami Marlins taking 2-3 games against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers won Game 1 on Monday due to a 2-run homer from Spencer Torkelson but were shut out on Tuesday and also lost via shutout in Wednesday’s game. I’ll be honest, words can’t begin to describe how angry I am about this series’ loss to the worst team in baseball. Reese Olson pitched a gem on Tuesday and the Tiger’s offense completely abandoned him and couldn’t get him his first win of the…
