Atletico Madrid star Alvaro Morata has unveiled the truth behind the rumors of his future at his club and Spain. It has been reported that Morata has been pondering over a possible exit. This the 3rd time it’s happening that the 32-year-old has been considering an exit
He pointed out earlier that he will most likely leave Atletico Madrid if he is not able to start for the club. Already his contract is due to expire in 2027
Afterward, he was a starter and Morata rejected offers from Saudi. He eventually claimed he would not leave the club until he won a trophy there.
Moreover despite all this, lately in an interview, Morata has seemed to have another change of mind. In his latest interview with Cadena COPE, Morata has revealed subtly that he is checking out his options.

Morata speaks in the interview “In football, nothing is certain. I want to stay but there are times when it’s complicated for me in Spain with a lot of criticism.”
The Atletico Madrid star answered the questions about his possible international retirement after the Euros.
“I want this to end in the best way possible as it could be my last tournament with the national team.
“It’s likely I will leave after the Euros”
Morata’s having scored 36 goals places him 4th in the ranking of Spain’s all-time goal scorers. He will be desiring to close the distance on their former club legend Fernando Torres. As Torres is on 38 goals, Morata will be hoping to score more goals in the Euros.
Morata, 32, has been a starter for Spain in their Euro campaign. Starting four out of Spain’s five games. He scored in their 3-0 win over Croatia in the Group stage. He is also expected to be involved against France, despite the rumors of suspension.

The Atletico Madrid forward also said last month it has been easier for him to play abroad. This has been because of the way fans abroad react and treat him
“It could be [my last tournament with Spain],” Morata spoke to the newspaper El Mundo on Monday. “It’s a possibility that I don’t want to talk about too much, but it’s probable.”
Morata is known to be experienced in playing for different teams. Having played for Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea then later joined Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Morata has somehow struggled with the Atletico Madrid fans and Spanish fans in general. He experienced boos in the form of whistles at times by Spain fans during Euro 2020 campaign. Also again at the Bernabéu when Spain had a friendly against Brazil in March this year.
“In Spain, it’s hard for me to be happy,” Morata said. “Without a doubt [I’m happier outside of Spain]. I’ve said it many times. Above all, because people respect me. In Spain, there’s no respect for anything or anyone.”

Morata is set to be available to play against France. Although reports were suggesting he was yellow carded after he was removed in Spain’s 2-1 win over Germany. However, those reports were invalid.
“The other day, people said I was crying [on the touchline] because I’d been given a yellow card,” Morata said. “What nonsense is that! I was crying because my country, with me as captain, had got into the semifinals. I could never criticize someone who was crying because of that. But I’m criticized when I’d cut my hand off to win the Euros.”
“I try to enjoy this tournament, which could be my last games with the national team, and in the future, what will be, will be,” he said. “Maybe one day they’ll even miss me. Each day, the moment for leaving is closer, that’s why I enjoy it, that’s why I cry, that’s why I’ll cry at whatever comes next, for good or bad.”
“It isn’t nice,” he said. “That’s why I still think, although I’m focused on the Euros, that I don’t know if I should stay in Spain … I’ve said I’m dying to win trophies with Atletico Madrid, but then you have to weigh up if it’s worth it or not.”
“In football, nothing is certain,” Morata spoke in an interview with El Desmarque.
“[Staying at Atletico Madrid] is my opinion from the bottom of my heart, but as I’ve often said, at times for me, being in Spain is difficult.
“I’m sick of talk that I’m playing the victim, that I’m complaining … I just want this to end in the best way possible and enjoy it, because this could be my last tournament with the national team.”
