Atlanta Hawks Point Guard Trae Young With Tremendous Game

Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta Hawks Point Guard Trae Young had a great game on Sunday on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks. His stellar performance helped the Hawks prevail 145-124 in one of their best offensive performances of the season. Young finished with 19 points and 19 assists in the win. It was his 15th game with 15+ assists this year. No other player in the NBA has more than 10 such games this season.

Young has had a strong regular season. He is 15th in the league in points per game and the league leader in assists. Will Young be able to finish the regular season on a high note as the Atlanta Hawks look to make a deep playoff run?

Atlanta Hawks Season Summary

Atlanta has been mediocre this year. They are 36-38 and the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. With the regular season winding down, it will be difficult for the team to make it out of the NBA Play-In Tournament.

The Hawks have been led by one of the league’s best offenses. They are fifth in points per game, 15th in field goal percentage, and 18th in three-point percentage. The issue for the Atlanta Hawks this season has been their defense. They are 27th in points allowed, 28th in opposing field goal percentage, and 27th in opposing three-point percentage. Even though Atlanta has a great offense, their defense will hold them back in the NBA Playoffs.

Final Thoughts

Atlanta returns to the court Tuesday night at home against the Portland Trail Blazers. Even the Hawks will not be able to get out of the Play-In, they should qualify for the NBA Playoffs as either the No. 7 or 8 seed. The Atlanta Hawks have virtually no path of making a deep run in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Their only path, albeit slim, is to have a playoff run for the ages. He had done so before and must play that way again.
