Boise State Running Back Ashton Jeanty Declares For 2025 NFL Draft

Jeanty

Boise State Running Back Ashton Jeanty announced his intention to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is coming off a historic regular season for the Boise State Broncos where he carried them to the College Football Playoff. Boise State was dominated by Penn State in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal as the star running back had 104 rushing yards, but his worst average yards per carry of the year at 3.5. He was never able to get going against a staunch Nittany Lions defense.

Jeanty had a historic season with Boise State finishing only 27 rushing yards behind all-time great Barry Sanders for the most rushing yards in a single season. Jeanty’s performance also led to him finishing second in Heisman Trophy voting behind Colorado Wide Receiver/Cornerback Travis Hunter in one of the closest races ever. Which NFL team will draft the All-American running back in April?

Ashton Jeanty’s NFL Prospects

Jeanty is the No. 13 prospect in the upcoming draft and the top running back in the class according to CBS Sports. His running style has drawn comparisons to former NFL Running Back Marshawn Lynch. “Beast Mode” is most associated for his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks.

Jeanty enters the National Football League at precisely the right time as the running back position experienced a resurgence during the regular season. With running backs like Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley switching teams and having career seasons, the running back position is more important than ever.

Final Thoughts

The Boise State product is projected to go in the top 15 of April’s NFL Draft. He would be a great fit with teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders. Jeanty will look to parlay one of the best collegiate seasons in history to a successful rookie season in the National Football League.
