Arsenal is attempting to create history in the Premier League this evening. That is not an easy accomplishment in the 30+ year history of arguably one of the world’s best football leagues. However, the lads clad in the red-and-white will need Manchester City’s help if the Arsenal reach their destiny.
No team has ever started second on the Premier League table on the final day and ended the day with the Premier League crown. With a Man City win or draw, the Gunners would hold fate in their own hands in today’s game against Everton.

Second-ranked Arsenal is the odds-on favorite in today’s match against 15th-place Everton. The Gunners enter the pitch on a 5-game winning streak matching the pace set by table-leader Manchester City. Led by Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz in scoring, Arsenal has been a difficult team to handle all season long with a 27-5-5 record in 2024.
Even if Arsenal does not claim the Premier League title today, Arsenal’s 2023-24 season can be considered a success. The squad has qualified for the FA Cup, the EPL Cup, and the UEFA Champions League for the 2024-25 schedule.
Arsenal would love to enter the Gunner’s 99th consecutive season among the elite of English football with the 2024 Premier League Crown entering next season. Unfortunately, the choice is not entirely up to them any longer.

It is well and good that Arsenal wants to win the Premier League. However, it is no longer up to them. Manchester City sits in the Max Verstappen seat as the pole position leader in the table. If The Blues handle their business against West Ham, it will not matter what The Gunners do during match day.
Manchester City is attempting to secure an astounding fourth straight title for their piece of history. This would be a new benchmark in the English Premier League.
Manchester United is the only other club with three consecutive Premier League Titles as they claimed the top spot between 2006-2008 before Chelsea knocked them off the mountain top in 2009-10.

Everton’s Perspective of Match Day

Everton still has every reason to fight for standings points on the final day of the season with Brentford and Nottingham Forrest close in the standings Everton enters the match with 4 wins and a draw over their last five games firmly pulling them out of relegation territory in the table.
With 40 points in the standings and the previously mentioned teams within striking distance securing just a draw against Arsenal could go a long way in keeping Everton in that 15th position. According to the New York Times, the valuation difference between the 15th place finish and a 17th place final position is approximately 5 million Euros in merit-based earnings for the blue-themed club.
