Arsenal Fans Blast Tottenham’s Star Forward For Missing a Sitter Against Man City in 2-0 Defeat

Arsenal FC was hoping that the Aussie manager’s team, Tottenham, could pull off a huge upset and beat Manchester City to give Arsenal a better chance at claiming the PL trophy. But, the star striker at Spurs squandered a huge chance when he was in on goal to prevent City from dropping the most crucial points of the year.

Did he do it on purpose? There is no way, but people have to wonder how this talented player missed a valuable one-on-one opportunity that he would normally bury in the back of the net. Now, Arsenal FC have Man City breathing down their neck – and the potential for City winning the EPL, yet again, is looking stronger by the day.

Arsenal Fuming at Tottenham #9 For Missing Huge Chance

Tottenham Hotspurs were never in contention to make the top three, but they are holding onto fifth place to secure their spot in the Europa League for next season. Even so, this game doesn’t mean as much to them as it did to City and Arsenal who are both fighting to win the Premier League with just two games left to go.

With just four minutes left to play in this intense matchup between Spurs and Pep Guardiola’s side, Son Heung-min, one of the best strikers in the world and the Spurs’ captain, missed a virtual open goal that he would normally score with ease. In the 86th minute, he missed the goal when City was up just 1-0 up. If Tottenham had scored that chance, they would have drawn the game 1-1, or even gone on to win the match.

Instead, City scored another goal before the game was up, securing a 2-0 victory that had Arsenal and their fans wondering what just happened.

City didn’t score at all in the first half, but both teams were looking dangerous in the opposing team’s 18-yard box. Ederson had to produce some quality saves to deny the Tottenham players from scoring, much to Arsenal FC’s dismay. Similarly, the Spurs’ keeper, Vicario, did well at preventing Haaland, DeBruyne, and other City players from goals in the first half.

Despite holding on for as long as they could, Tottenham conceded a goal in the 51st minute to none other than Haaland. Arsenal fans could only watch on in disappointment as a perfect pass from DeBruyne found the feet of the Norwegian striker for an easy tap-in.

More drama ensued when Ederson was subbed off before the 7th minute for a possible concussion, with the backup keeper taking his place between the posts. But, even though he is second string to Ederson, this doesn’t make him any less important. He made the biggest save of the game, and maybe of the year, by denying Son a goal in the 86th minute.

Arsenal fans could only look away and wonder what could have been if Son had buried that chance and drew the game level with less than five minutes left in regular time.

Arsenal just beat Manchester United 1-0 in a tense battle that saw both sides clawing for points. This was a good battle for United, as they have had a terrible season – and a horrible last few weeks. Arsenal earning the three points means they are still in contention for the title, but City would have to drop points in their last game.

Arsenal has one more game against Everton on Monday, which they will almost surely win. Manchester City need two in their final game to secure the EPL trophy. It all comes down to the last day.
