There is no way that Antonio Conte is letting one of Napoli’s best players — and one of the world’s most exciting wingers — go in a trade or a loan deal this summer transfer window. Conte has enough experience as a top-tier footballing manager that he knows talent when he sees it — and the Georgian winger has enough talent to go around.
Kvaratskhelia looks like he could be in Napoli to stay, for at least one more year, after talks with Antonio Conte had a seemingly positive end. The Georgia national could have chosen almost anywhere else in the world to go due to his illustrious playing style and creative dribbling techniques, but it seems as though the contract negotiations went well for him to stay in Serie A this season.
Antonio Conte Tries to Retain Georgian Winger
Antonio Conte will have a busy ‘off-season’ this year as some of his players are partaking in the Euro 2024 tournament, others are in the Copa America games, and some are resting with their families at home. One of the most important players for his Italian club, and for the Georgian national team, is Kvaratskhelia.
Will he stay at Napoli next year? Antonio Conte is doing his best to make sure that is the case. Napoli have put forth the first steps that indicate they want the coveted striker and winger to stay with the club for at least one more season to help them fight for the Serie A title.
Sky Italia Has leaked to the public that the board at the Napoli club is doing all they can to re-sign the 23-year-old to the club or offer a more lucrative deal to the player. They are even willing to go so far as to charter a private plane to go to Germany, where he currently is at the Euros, to chat with him in person to sign the deal and get the process in motion.
But, Antonio Conte will have a lot of elite teams to compete with. The superstar singer has also been in talks with Pari Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 in France, filling in for Mbappe who went to Real Madrid in Spain, or Barcelona, one of the most famous teams in the world in La Liga.
So, what does the player himself think? Is he interested in staying with Conte’s team or does he want to move on?
Has Conte said that I’m staying? I don’t know yet. I respect him because he is one of the best coaches in the world but I still want to take some time to decide. I respect Naples, I love Naples. I still don’t know how to give a certain answer about my future.
Antonio Conte & Napoli Next Year
Last year, SSC Napoli ended in a disappointing 10th place out of 20 teams in the Serie A in Italy. They ended the season with just 13 wins in 38 matches, scoring a total of 55 goals and ending the season with a +7 goal differential. Getting 48 goals scored against them in all competitions made them toward the middle and bottom of the pack for the duration of the season.
Napoli will hope to keep key plates this upcoming season, like Osimhen as a striker (although it could already be too late), Lorenzo as a defender, Zielinski as a midfielder, Natan as a stalwart center-back, Ngonge as a threatening forward, and Lautoka as a hard-working midfielder in the center of the park.
