He had Rodrigo Bentancur and Giovanni Lo Celso slowly reeled back into the team. So far these players and others have helped manage the injury challenges. Ange Postecoglou regards Lo Celso as a fantastic player, after helping Tottenham Hotspurs during their injury crises. He helped fill the roles of James Maddison and Pape Mata Sarr. Lo Celso has only appeared in 17 games, of which he started 6. His impact had been great.
Lo Celso’s versatility has helped him thrive in numerous positions for the Spurs. He has performed well both as an attacking midfielder and a central midfield. His ball-keeping, ball-striking, and strong pressing ability have always been his strengths. This has helped the Spurs survive an ample of games. Their game against Man City was an example.
He could have started, but he still struggled with some minor issues during that time. Ange Postecoglou was asked during the conference about Lo Celso having more starts. The Coach expressed the importance of having good squad depth. With big games in hand, they’ll need these players to be available and ready.
Tottenham Hotspurs Midfield Depth
Ange Postecoglou will hope to avoid more injuries. As it stands they have a good depth of midfielders on the team. They’ve already got Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr, and Maddison healthy. Adding Lo Celso into the numbers would give the Spurs numerous options in the middle. It’ll be left to Postecoglu to invent different tactical structures to accommodate the players. It’s also a big advantage, as they’ll be able to adapt to different opponents’ playing styles.

Ange Postecoglou’s side is expected to face all three title contenders. Two at home and one away. They’ll have both Arsenal and Man City at home. Liverpool will also host them at Anfield. Finally, the Spurs will strive to get the most points from all three players to keep their top 4 hopes alive.
