Talking to Innsider, Amit Mishra, who is one of the most successful wicket-takers in the IPL, pointed out that the rivalry between Kohli and LSG players started in the 2023 period. Mishra says that LSG was already on Kohli’s radar after the latter was offended by a gesture from the LSG mentor, Gambhir, who placed his finger on the lips during a previous match in Bengaluru.
“He began to assault our players in the LSG vs. RCB match in Lucknow again. He had no hard feelings for Kyle Myers, but he would abuse him. Naveen-ul-Haq was bowling, and Kohli would abuse him. Too many things could have been resolved, but Kohli didn’t want them,” Mishra said.

Thus, Naveen’s recent statement depicts a move towards ending the crisis, as Mishra would disagree with it. Mishra thinks the event is still imprinted, especially on the young players in the team who relocated.
“Improve about the youngsters who saw a big star like Kohli abusing others,” Mishra said during the podcast while elaborating. “It is not just the incident, but you set an example. ”
