These two young talents have been building their power for a significant time Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and Italian Jannik Sinner give the semi-final match at the French Open for a start. With the exit of Novak Djokovic, these two prodigal talents are ruling the whole men’s singles finalist.
This is creating the stage for an amazing clash. When the two tennis giants start preparing for their baseline face-off on the celebrated Court Philippe Chatrier, Tennis lovers begin looking forward to the emergence of successors to the much dreaded ‘Big Three’.
Alcaraz v Sinner: ‘The Match Everybody Wants to Watch’
Currently, Carlos Alcaraz has referred to his French Open semi-final against Jannik Sinner as the match that “everyone loves to see”. The duo stands as the remaining seeded players in men’s singles brackets after Djokovic pulled out of the tournament. Sinner, who will overtake Medvedev and enter the top position on the ATP rankings next week, is undefeated in Grand Slam.
Sinner got his first Majors this year after claiming his maiden title at the Australian Open in January. On the other hand, Spain’s Alcaraz talked about such matches as he has with Jannik. He noted, “I enjoy these types of encounters… I enjoy this type of test, to have an extremely tough fight against him.” He and Sinner will face off on Court Philippe Chatrier – not before 13:30 BST before Alexander Zverev meets Casper Ruud in the second semi-final on Friday.
There will always be a new winner of the Coupe des Mousquetaires come Sunday, thus Thursday’s performance counts to nothing. Indeed, it will be the first time since 2004 that the winner of the Roland Garros final will not be one of the ‘big three” which include Federer, Nadal, or Djokovic.

One of the Best Players in the World
Alcaraz, who triumphs in Wimbledon, and Sinner who becomes the Australian Open winner have both demonstrated themselves as potential heirs to the so-called ‘Big Three’ after clinching their Grand Slam titles in the course of the last 12 months.
The players take to the court again after suffering from injuries in the days leading up to the French Open and have both been impressive in dispatching their opponents, losing only one set piece each. Third seed Alcaraz who claimed the title in the US Open of 2022 came out successful in the last face-off between the two.
Still, Sinner has only one clay ATP Tour title while Alcaraz currently has seven. Moreover, being Spanish by birth, Alcaraz has been set for triumph in the French Open for long. However, one must look at it and on this Alcaraz, 21 years of age, says it is the ‘hardest thing’ he will do is face Sinner. ‘He does everything to perfection and I had to work very hard to counter that,’ Alcaraz said of his 22-year-old opponent. The former commented the following: «Now he is one of the biggest challenges that we can have in front of us in tennis, maybe he is the best player in the world.
