There has been a big update on what is considered one of the more important annual AEW PPVs, All Out. The 2024 event was set to take place on September 1st, 2024, but has now been moved to a different date. The PPV has now been shifted to September 7th, giving the company an extra week to fill out storylines post-All In.
When the date of All In 2023 was announced, it left fans puzzled as to why it was taking place just a week after All In. This was also the same case with the scheduled dates this year but with this shift to September 7th, it gives the company a 2-week period to distinguish the PPVs.
All Out 2024
AEW All Out 2024 is still set to take place where it originally was, in the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This is the third time AEW is going to the Now Arena for All Out, as they previously did in 2021 and 2022. All Out has certainly become the Illinois-centered PPV, as the event took place there in 2019, and from 2021 through 2024.
With All Out 2024 now taking place two weeks after All In, it gives AEW more time for builds and potential matches. Although All Out 2023 was a great PPV, it taking place a week after All In resulted in no AEW World Championship match and no AEW Women’s World Championship match. The PPV was headlined by Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship.
All Out is considered to be AEW’s second-biggest PPV, right behind Double or Nothing, so the date of the PPV is certainly an important factor. Hopefully, with this date change, All Out 2024 can see the major titles in AEW defended and better storylines coming into the event.
AEW All In
All Out will likely be booked primarily off of the aftermath of All In, AEW’s Wembley PPV that they are looking to make massive waves with once again. All In 2023 had a total attendance of 72,265 people, becoming the most attended wrestling event since Wrestlemania 32.
Although they might not hit that number this year, AEW should expect to see at least 50,000 people in attendance for All In 2024. They have already sold over 40,000, and are on good pace to fill out their current setup.
All In 2023 saw huge advancements made in AEW storylines and also saw major matches such as Young Bucks vs FTR 3, and Adam Cole vs MJF. Wrestling legend Sting wrestled in front of his most-attended crowd ever, and Chris Jericho was able to wrestle in Wembley for the first time in his career. The same will be said for Bryan Danielson and Adam Copeland this year.
All Out With No CM Punk
This will be the second year AEW is hosting All Out in Illinois with CM Punk not wrestling on it. Punk was fired on the Dynamite after All In, missing the opportunity to wrestle in front of his Chicago crowd the week after.
Punk wrestled at both All Out 2021 and All Out 2022 (Brawl Out), two events that also took place in his home state. AEW hosted All Out in Illinois before CM Punk arrived in the company, so it makes sense as to why they will continue to do so from here on out. However, there could also be some disdain between the fans and the company given how Punk was treated during the All In incident.
It seems as if even without the Second City Saint, Illinois has become the permanent location of the All Out PPV, and it should be expected to see AEW there every year for their September event.
