AEW Dynamite 5/25/2024 Preview: The Young Bucks Fighting for Power Heading into Double or Nothing

AEW Star Orange Cassidy

It’s Wednesday! Do you know what that means? It’s AEW Dynamite’s go-home show.

Airing live in Bakersfield, California, AEW Dynamite aims to keep the buzz going strong before their huge pay-per-view event Saturday. This year’s Double or Nothing will be its sixth annual event in front of a sold-out Los Vegas crowd and you can bet your last double that it’ll be electric. No pun intended.

But before we get to Double or Nothing, we must first get through this week’s Dynamite. On paper, the show shows promise to be a banger of a good time. The anticipation for Double or Nothing will be felt in the go-home show and may boil over before we even make it to the pay-per-view.

What’s more, Tony Kohn has announced that AEW Dynamite will have to extend its runtime tonight. And if the show is as great as it appears, Tony Kahn made an excellent decision that’ll surely pop the fans.

AEW Dynamite is packed with exhilarating wrestling matches that should get wrestling fans foaming at the mouth with anticipation for what could be another great Double or Nothing event.

AEW Dynamite’s go-home show seeks to continue multiple storylines heading into the pay-per-view while adding twists to keep things a bit unpredictable.

Bryan Danielson vs Satnam Singh

The biggest story heading into the go-home show centers around the Elite, consisting of Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and the tag team, the Young Bucks, whose members are brothers, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. For weeks, the Elite have been mad with power, fighting to take over AEW.

However, Bryan Danielson and his team consisting of Darby Allen and the tag team FTR, whose members are Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler, plan on ending the Elite’s tyrannic rule once and for all. And this war between both teams will be settled at Double or Nothing in an Anarchy in the Arena match.

However, Bryan Danielson will have to make it out of Dynamite first.

With the Elite’s increasing power, they have put Bryan Danielson in a match against the seven-foot-tall Satnam Singh at Dynamite’s go-home show.

Will Bryan Danielson rise above the odds or will Satnam Singh’s overwhelming power be too much for Danielson to handle? We’ll have to wait for answers by the end of the go-home show in what could be a great David vs Goliath-style match.

Swerve Strictland vs Nick Wayne

Before he defends his AEW championship this Saturday against Christian Cage, Swerve Strickland will have his hands full with Christian’s protege and long-time rival, Nick Wayne.

After weeks of being outnumbered, Swerve Strickland will have a chance at revenge and evening up the odds by taking out Nick Wayne, who is also looking for retribution against Swerve Strickland for his troubles.

Toni Storm/Mariah May vs Harley Cameron/Saraya

Although Toni Storm will defend her AEW Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb, she will be in tag team action for AEW Dynamite tonight.

Partnering with her protege (of sorts) Mariah May, they’ll face the team of Harley Cameron & Saraya. With Serena Deeb not scheduled to appear tonight, there’s much anticipation on what role she’ll play in this match, if any.

Kyle O’Reilly vs Malakai Black

Kyle O’Reilly vs Malakai Black looks to be a nail-biter of a match for AEW Dynamite’s go-home show.

Although Malakai Black will challenge Adam Copeland for the TNT championship at Double or Nothing, he’ll have to keep his eyes focused on Kyle O’Reilly, who also has personal issues with Malachi Black and his dominant faction, The House of Black.

Konosuke Takeshita vs Matt Sydel

Another match to take place at Double or Nothing is between Konosuke Takeshita and Jox Moxley in a title eliminator match. At Dynamite’s go-home show, Takeshita will be preoccupied by the high-flying veteran Matt Sydel, and what should be a great match as well.

While Jon Moxley isn’t advertised to be in a match, he’s scheduled to make an appearance tonight. So, you can expect to see some interaction between Takeshita and Moxley to sell their epic clash at Double or Nothing tonight.

3-way title eliminator match for a shot at FTW Title

Also scheduled on the go-home show is a three-way title eliminator match between Hook, Bryan Keith, and Katsuyori Shibata. Since the winner of the match receives an FTW championship match, the former champion Hook may be the odds-on favorite.

What makes the eliminator match interesting is that Hook and Katsuyori Shibata have been on the same page over the last few weeks. So will the outcome of this match see a wrench thrown into that friendship? Or will both men lose an opportunity altogether to Bryan Keith?

Cassidy/Ospreay vs Strong/Trent Beretta

Tonight will be the first time Orange Cassidy and Will Ospreay will share a ring since their classic match at AEW Forbidden Door in 2022. Just seeing these two men back in the same ring again can sell the show all its own.

Once rivals, the duo will now team up for the go-home show against Trent Beretta and AEW International Champion who they’ll both face at Double or Nothing in Singles competition respectively.

Prepare For An Epic Show

Every wrestling match and segment tonight seems focused on shaping Double or Nothing to be another epic event for AEW.

Overall, AEW Dynamite‘s go-home show looks to be a fun two hours of great pro wrestling. Its abundance of wrestling matches tonight should make the go-home show an action-packed thrill ride.
