Willow Nightingale vs Mercedes Mone
A key match at AEW Double or Nothing will be between Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone for the AEW TBS Championship. This feud started at NJPW Resurgence 2023, where Willow Nightingale accidentally injured Mone in their match for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.
However, it kicked off when Mercedes decided to join AEW at AEW Big Business. She has had a grudge against Willow due to the injury she caused her in their first match, and now they look to run it back at the PPV.
This match will be for the AEW TBS Championship, a title that Willow won at AEW Dynasty after defeating Julia Hart. It’s the title that Mercedes has been targeting ever since her debut in AEW, and she will finally get a chance to compete for it at Double or Nothing.
Anarchy in the Arena
Another match that is set to take place at AEW Double or Nothing is the Anarchy in the Arena match between The Elite and Team AEW. The Elite consists of The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry. Team AEW will include Bryan Danielson, a returning Darby Allin, and FTR.
In the past few months, The Young Bucks decided to turn heel and shape up The Elite. Out went Adam Page and Kenny Omega, and in came Jack Perry and Japanese wrestling superstar Kazuchika Okada. They have been tearing up AEW ever since with their EVP power, and now they might finally get what they deserve.
There is a huge history between these two teams, as they have gone back and forth recently. At Wrestle Kingdom 18, Bryan Danielson faced Kazuchika Okada in a match that he lost. Darby Allin and Sting defeated The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution in Sting’s last-ever match. The Young Bucks and FTR have had a long-lasting rivalry, and one of their many matches took place at AEW Dynasty for the vacant tag titles, which FTR lost.
This match will be a culmination of everything The Elite have done the past few months, as some of their biggest rivals will be teaming up with each other to attempt to take down the massive powerhouse that has corrupted AEW.
