Breaking News: Adam Copeland Painful Injury At AEW’s Double or Nothing 2024

Adam Copeland, All Elite Wrestling, AEW

Adam Copeland has been around the professional wrestling industry long enough to know that there are some risks that are worth taking and some that might not be the wisest choice to make at a particular moment.  While I am sure the planned stunt was discussed beforehand and played an integral role in the story that All Elite Wrestling superstars Adam Copeland and Malakai black were telling in the ring. Unfortunately, for the 50-year-old wrestler, the spot did not go as planned, and Copeland will now miss an undetermined amount of time due to injury.

You can pretty much let your imagination run wild when you hear the phrases “barbed wire” and “steel cage” smashed together in the world of pro wrestling.  Undoubtedly, neither of the combatants in the staged fight walk away unscathed from that madness. With some assistance from a longtime friend and former stable mate in “The Brood,” Gangrel Copeland escaped that steel cage match with a victory….but at what costs?

Adam Copeland took to Twitter/X on Tuesday morning to announce a more serious injury than most would expect coming out of that type of match. In a quick two-minute video, Copeland introduced us to his two “new friends”- a pair of brand-new crutches.

The veteran wrestler stated that he sustained a broken tibia and will be out for an unknown length of time. According to that video, he is expected to get information regarding surgery next week. The suggested healing time for this type of injury is 4-6 months; however, that timeframe varies individually.

As of press time, All Elite Wrestling has not yet addressed the statement released by Adam Copeland this morning. While the wrestling company might make a statement today, their nationally television show “AEW Dynamite” will take place tomorrow evening in Los Angeles, California.

Whether or not Adam Copeland will be available to break the news to AEW fans and relinquish his TNT Championship is unknown at this time.
