Milan did their best to climb back into the match in the second half, but they failed to find any chink in the defense that Parma set up. All credit should be given to the Parma goalkeeper, who helped maintain the lead by showing a top-class performance. Key saves came against Noah Okafor and Strahinja Pavlovic.

It was a historic defeat for AC Milan. For the first time in the current competitive season and since the season 2011–2012, Milan remained without a victory in the first two starting matches. Besides, Parma put an end to the unbeaten series against Milan and emerged victorious for the first time since 2001. After this defeat, the Rossoneri sit in 16th place with one point.
On the contrary, the win over Parma speaks volumes about their preparation for the Serie A. The newcomers now find themselves in the top position on the table with four points.
