As much as the phrase “Stick to sports!” can belittle an athlete’s god-given right to have an opinion on world matters, but for Aaron Rodgers, it is probably good advice.
Take, for example, the curious case of Aaron Rodgers. The once-great quarterback of the Green Bay Packers has — in many eyes — gone off the deep end with his highly-controversial takes about modern medicine and other topical affairs.
The now-New York Jets signal caller has had plenty of time to dream up new conspiracy theories after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury just moments into his Gotham debut.
But for Rodgers, all roads seem to lead back to Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Aaron Rodgers’ most-recent facepalm-able moment came this week as footage surfaced from the Look Into It podcast. In a minute-plus-long clip, the 40-year-old quarterback hits out at his longtime nemesis, Fauci.
The 10-time Pro Bowler claimed that Fauci, the former chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden, was connected to what he has said was the “entirely man-made” HIV/AIDS epidemic that broke out in the 1980s.
The four-time All-Pro said that Fauci, who served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984-2022, botched the struggle against HIV as well as the presentation of the drug AZT — the the first antiretroviral medication used to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS. He also linked that epidemic and the reaction to it to the U.S. government’s COVID-19 response.
Aaron Rodgers said on the podcast:
“The blueprint, the game plan, was made in the ’80s. Create a pandemic with a virus that’s going wild. Fauci was given over $350 million to research this, to come up with drugs—new or repurposed—to handle the AIDS pandemic. And all they came up with was AZT.”
He continued:
“And if you do even a smidge of research, and I know, I’m not an epidemiologist, I’m not a doctor, I’m not an immunologist, whatever the f**k. I can read, though. And I can learn and I can look things up just like any normal person. I can do my own research, which was so vilified, to even question authority. But that was the game plan back then. Create an environment where only one thing works. Back then AZT; now, Remdesivir until we get a vaccine.”

Aaron Rodgers also alluded to Fauci’s reported links to pharmaceutical company Moderna, and continued a long-running rant against another pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, saying:
“By the way, we know Fauci had [a] stake in the Moderna vaccine and we know is one of the most criminally corrupt ever, the fine they paid was the biggest in the history of the [Department of Justice] in 2009. What are we talking about? We’re going to put our full trust in science that can’t be questioned?”
The claims Aaron Rodgers made regarding a link between Fauci and Moderna were disproven years ago. However, that hasn’t stopped the four-time Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player — or longshot 2024 presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who reportedly considered Aaron Rodgers as a possible running mate — from continuing to spout them out.
Aaron Rodgers spent 18 seasons with the Packers before he was traded to the Jets nearly one year ago. He is expected to take the field with his new team once again this fall, having already returned to practice with New York. Perhaps the 19-year NFL veteran just needs some football back in his life.
