Inter Miami boss Tata Martino expressed concern for Messi’s hamstring and stated that they would take a cautious approach to his recovery. Messi is expected to return on April 4 and participate in the match against Monterrey. “We’ll continuously evaluate what he’s doing. The objective is for him to arrive and be able to play in the quarterfinals of the Champions Cup. We don’t want to take a risk,” said Tata Martino.
In addition, Messi was benched against Montreal, where Inter Miami lost 3-2. “We discussed this about a week ago. We agreed that this was the game he should rest in, independent of what happened in the game against Nashville,” added Tata Martino.
