Dricus du Plessis Stuns Israel Adesanya To Keep Middleweight Title at UFC 305

Dricus du Plessis Wins against Israel Adesanya

Dricus du Plessis chokes and taps out Israel Adesanya in UFC 305. It was an interesting fight and every fan was eager to see the results. The conclusion is in front of us and we all know that there is only one worthy of the Middleweight Title and that is du Plessis himself. The South African defended his title against Israel Adesanya successfully, who was a former champion but this time he faced a beast that he couldn’t handle.

Dricus Du Plessis is going to face Sean Strickland again in the Octagon after he lost it earlier this year, but he claims that he hasn’t lost it yet and wants another title shot. But for now, Dricus has proved himself to the world and he is the one reigning champion of the middleweight Division.

Even though it was a tough fight, du Plessis showed his physical endurance and mentality, in that he was convinced that he was going to knock out Adesanya and he did it. It took only several moments for Dricus to land a series of powerful punches and then finally took Adesanya to the ground, where he locked a submission hold.

Within a blink of an eye or perhaps a second later on, with what looked like a pained face, Adesanya tapped the bout and the fight was over at 3:38 of the fourth round. Finally, the South African and Adesanya both met in the middle of the octagon, shaking hands, and thus ending the animosity between the two fighters.

Dricus clarified the words that he said about Africa, the home country of Israel Adesanya. “For me to share this octagon with a legend, 100 percent a Hall of Famer. This man has done so much for this sport. I’m sorry that it came across that I disrespected the fact that he’s from Africa, that was never my intention.”

Submission Attempt on Dricus du Plessis

Israel Adesanya worked very hard in the Gym and the Octagon for this fight but fate had different plans. Even though the former champ gave it his all, he couldn’t get past Dricus du Plessis’ tough defense. He managed to escape a takedown and submission attempt early on, but in the fourth round, he couldn’t break free from the same hold.

It was a tough loss for Adesanya, but he admitted his mistakes and gave du Plessis credit for the victory. Israel Adesanya made some mistakes that resulted in his loss and he admitted that. “I already knew he was going to be tough. It wasn’t a surprise. I felt strong, and able to resist his takedowns. I just made a stupid dumb mistake on the ground.”

Dricus du Plessis at last put a full stop to the rivalry of both warriors and they both embraced each other. What are your thoughts about the great rivalry between these two warriors? Let us know in the comment section.
