Michael Chandler ready for Conor McGregor in December

Poirier is Uncertain

Michael Chandler will fight Conor McGregor in December, but things are unclear. Dana White has announced that Conor McGregor will not fight for a long time, even though he is not expected to return in 2024. His fans are now really unhappy when they find Conor McGregor not fulfilling what he said and promised to them.

Dana White said that he would be returning in 2025, but just after that, Conor himself said on Twitter that he wanted to return in December. It’s not confirmed because McGregor does not usually do what he says. Michael Chandler, on the other hand, the fighter who is challenging Conor, is always ready to fight.

Michael Chandler Hopefull for Fight

Everyone was shocked to hear UFC president Dana White recently say that Conor McGregor won’t fight in 2024; Michael Chandler is still hopeful that their delayed match could happen in December. McGregor and Chandler were initially set to fight at UFC 303 on June 29. Unfortunately, McGregor broke his toe during training, which postponed the fight. According to ESPN’s Andreas Hale, White was asked this week if there are plans to reschedule the McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight for this year.

So he revealed the unfortunate news to everyone but Conor McGregor said something very different from Dana White, he said “Ah Dana, December is the date. Bring the calendar year home with a winning event! Come on now, what’s this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare. December! Tell Dana and UFC we want December! We deserve December!”

Big Opportunity for Michael Chandler

The 36-year-old McGregor is one of the biggest names in UFC history, but he hasn’t fought since UFC 264, which was over three years ago. He broke his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier, and it took him a long time to recover. His comeback was delayed even more when his scheduled fight against Michael Chandler had to be pushed back.

The performance of “The Notorious” is not so satisfying as he has lost three out of his last four fights. This happened before the leg break, and it is debatable whether that makes him an exciting fighter, but he is a massive draw and is likely to pay big per-view figures when he comes back. McGregor currently holds a record of 22-6 and is the two-division UFC champion in the featherweight and lightweight divisions.

Michael Chandler, on the other hand, is very different from Conor McGregor. He is 38 years old and has not won a belt since he signed with the UFC from Bellator in 2021. Like McGregor, Michael Chandler has 23 wins and 8 losses. He has also lost three of his last four bouts, but defeating McGregor will put a rocket under him and be the biggest win of his life.
