Arman Tsarukyan Waiting for Islam Makhachev

Arman Tsarukyan Waiting Makhachev

Arman Tsarukyan is building an impressive streak in the Lightweight Division of the UFC. He has fought 25 fights and has won 23 of them but lost 2 of them. This proves that Arman is a tough opponent, who can be a nightmare for his opponent in the Octagon. He is now going to fight the Champion of the Lightweight Division, Islam Makhachev.

Islam Makhachev has only lost one fight in his whole career. The reason for that was only when he didn’t listen to his coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. After that, he dominated every fighter that stood in his way and became the Title holder and even after being a champion he has defeated every challenger.

Title Shot Pushed Back

Arman Tsarukyan Title Shot Pushed Back

Islam Makhachev’s title defense against Arman Tsarukyan is not going to take place on the scheduled date and it’s going to be re-scheduled. It is because Makhachev has a wrist injury and needs time to recover. Arman Tsarukyan doesn’t only want to fight for the Lightweight title but he also wants to fight for an interim title in the meantime. Jon Anik who is one of the best commentators and a UFC veteran thinks that Amran will need to be patient and wait for his chance rather than looking for another fight to stay active.

Anik Talks about Arman Tsarukyan

Anik was asked what Arman Tsarukyan should do while Makhachev was injured. He said the top contender needs to be patient. Anik used the example of the welterweight champion, who had to wait a long time for his title shot, and said: “Do you think, Belal Muhammad the way he is wired, 15-months bro, you think he wanted to wait? But he knew if he fought Gilbert Burns on one leg on three weeks’ notice and beat him he was staring at maybe a year and a half on the sidelines. Arman Tsarukyan has to wait.” Belal Muhammad is now the Welterweight Champion of UFC after a long wait and consistent hard work.

Islam Makhachev Will Return Soon

Arman Tsarukyan: Jon Anik not only gave the example of the new Welterweight champion but also mentioned Alexandre Pantoja. He had to wait for a year after his win over Alex Perez before getting his title shot. Recently, Pantoja was seen at the UFC Abu Dhabi event with a wrist brace, which worried the officials and the fans about a serious injury.

Islam Makhachev, his team, and Khabib Nurmangomedov made it clear to everyone that they are going to return to the Octagon very soon, so they don’t have to worry about anything. But the thing to worry about is that there are only a few pay-per-view slots left for the 155-pound champion.
