Former Indian cricket star and ex-Indian Head Coach Rahul Dravid is apparently in the final stages of negotiating for the position of head coach of the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Currently, Dravid has completed his term as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, and the Rajasthan Royals are keeping an eye on him for the upcoming season of the richest form of cricket known as the Twenty20 League.
Although Rahul Dravid’s recent exposure to the Indian national team was quite colorful and had touches of success, During his tenure, India won the second T20 World Cup trophy, which only indicates how brilliantly he handles the team and the game strategies. His managership also authorized the Indian team to reach the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup, which also proves his capacity as a mentor to ensure that the teams under his command perform at the highest level in international cricket.

If Rahul Dravid gets appointed, it would be more like coming home. Batting for the Rajasthan Royals from 2011–2013, the player was a mentor for the same team between 2014 and 2015. Only the man with the strong experience of being a real fan of the franchise and an appreciation of its main principles can help the Royals reach their goals.
The current champions of the IPL are Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), But the Target of Rajasthan Royals is to win the Upcoming IPL 2025 season and they too are ambitious to win that title. Despite their best efforts, though, they came only a little closer in 2022 to losing to the Gujarat Titans in the finals. Signing Rahul Dravid as the head coach is seen as a way to boost their preparation for the IPL 2025, which they believe will see them win their forthcoming IPL title.
Uncertain Future for Kumar Sangakkara
Relations are likely to be uneasy if Rahul Dravid takes up the role because Kumar Sangakkara, the present director of cricket for the Rajasthan Royals, will be in the frame. Sangakkara has remained a key player in the team, both in terms of planning and on the field. Whether he will remain in his present post as partner of Rahul Dravid or whether the structural alteration will not stop here is yet to be seen.
However, since the time he left the Royals, he has piled up a great deal of experience as well as achievements. That position as the head coach of the Indian cricket team has added to his profile, coaching portfolio, and experience. When negotiations between Rahul Dravid and the Rajasthan Royals go into the final stages, the fans and followers of the game eagerly wait. An official word that proclaims Rahul Dravid as their new head could be an ace up the Royals’ sleeve as they transform for the IPL 2025 season.
