Two players to watch for the Flyers is right-wing Tyson Foerster, who has scored 3 goals in his last 5 games played. The other is winger Cam Atkinson, who, after not scoring a goal in 26 consecutive games, which included being a healthy scratch, has now scored 5 goals in the previous 8 games played. Flyers all-star Travis Konecny leads the Flyers in goals with 22 and points with 42. Joel Farabee is 2nd with 40 points (17 goals-23 assists). Also, watch out for ex-Panther Owen Tippett. Tippett, who just signed an eight-year $49.6 million dollar deal, is 2nd on Philadelphia with 18 goals.
Florida Panthers
Florida, who is in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division, is led by, who is 2nd in the NHL, with 37 goals; 20 of those are on the power play, and 4 of his goals are shorthanded. Also, keep an eye out for left winger Matthew Tkachuk. He is 2nd on the team in scoring with 51 points, 19 of those on the power play. Center Carter Verhaeghe, who has 24 goals, is 2nd on the team and has 50 points this season, and captain Aleksander Barkov, who has 48 points and is the quarterback on the Panther’s power play, has 16 assists. Florida’s power play will be put to the test, as Philadelphia ranks 2nd overall in the league with an 86% penalty kill.
What to Expect
The Panthers have had an interesting stretch of games since December 23rd. The team won 9 games in a row, highlighted by a four-game-winning road trip. This included victories against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Colorado Avalanche. Then, they had a four-game homestand and proceeded to lose all four games, including two of those in overtime. Now, they have won four in a row! This includes three on the road against the Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the New York Islanders.
