Miles Johns Contracted to Fight Former Bantamweight Champion on 12th October

Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall

Miles Johns will fight the Former Bantamweight Champion who is none other than Cody Garbrandt. He recently had many fights and he won many of them but also had to lose some of them. Marcel Dorff who is a great journalist of MMA, announced on X that Cody will face Miles Johns. They will be fighting against each other in the UFC Apex on October 12th. This fight will be really interesting to watch because of the performances of both fighters recently.

Miles Johns doesn’t seem to back off from this fight because of his fierce nature. But what’s not clear is the fight ranking whether it will be the main event or it will be a simple fight, which means it will be simply a part of the lineup.

Cody Garbrandt Having a Great Start of Career

Cody Garbrandt Career against Miles Johns

Cody Garbrandt has won 14 fights in his professional career while on the other hand, he has lost six fights. Although he has won a lot of fights by submission and also by knockouts he also has a lot of points in his body to work, he has a lot of weak moves to work on, otherwise, it can be used against him multiple times.

He also lost a fight recently, he recently lost submission to Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300 in April. Cody Garbrandt was constantly winning these days and he maintained a four-fight-win streak but things went hard when he faced Deiveson Figueiredo, that loss ended the constant four-win streak, ending his four-fight winning streak where he knocked out Brian Kelleher and defeated Trevin Jones by decision.

Former Bantamweight Champion’s Losses in the Career

He has a crazy record of 9-6. Besides that Cody Garbrandt is a former bantamweight champion. Cody who is a Bantamweight Champion started his career with some great wins over great fighters, where he won five fights and lost none. That allowed him to earn a title shot against Dominick Cruz, which he won in a way that there was no question about his skills. But after when you win a title shot, it is as necessary to protect it and work hard for it in the gym as you worked hard to win it.

But that didn’t seem to be the case and he lost his title shot in the first fight to maintain it. After that, a fight was going to happen between him and Dillashaw. This fight was he was supposed to defend his title but he couldn’t do see and lost his title shot against a fight to T.J. Dillashaw. Among his notable victories are wins over Raphael Assuncao, Marcus Brimage, and Thomas Almeida.

Miles Johns Being a Hard Opponent

It would be a harsh reality for Garbrandt to lose against Miles, and that seems to turn into reality as Miles Johns has maintained his win streak up until now, and he will work hard to maintain this win streak, unlike Cody who lost his win streak. Miles Johns (15-2) is currently on a four-fight unbeaten streak. Miles Johns recently had a fight which he also won, with his latest victory being a decision win over Douglas Silva de Andrade in June. Including that win against a great champion, he also won a decision against Cody Gibson. He has a No Contest against Dan Argueta due to a failed drug test that overturned his initial decision win.

Johns has a UFC record of 6-2 with one No Contest. His two losses were to John Castaneda by submission and Mario Bautista by knockout. He has notable wins over Vince Morales and Anderson dos Santos, but his upcoming fight against Cody Garbrandt will be the biggest of his career.
