Michael Page reaction after UFC 303 defeat

Michael Page fight

Michael Page may not have come out on top in his fight against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 303. It wouldn’t mean that he was impressed by the confident Irish fighter.

Page fought fiercely and showcased his skills, but ultimately could not win by the unanimous decision at the June 29 pay-per-view event. He dominated his opponent in striking but could not win two rounds due to Garry’s grappling strategy.

After the match, Dana said something that sparked some curiosity for the fighters and the fans. UFC CEO Dana White said that the fight felt like a draw. Garry’s opponent wasn’t happy to hear that the fight might be a draw.

Michael Page discusses his performance

Although Page was lost, all the points and assessments of the champ were clear, and things really changed when he was asked some questions on the MMA Hour. He was questioned in the MMA Hour about whether Garry has the potential to be a champion in the competitive UFC welterweight division.

At 37, Michael now has a 1-1 record in his short stint with the UFC, having dominated Kevin Holland in his first match. His fight against Garry highlighted how his distinctive striking style can challenge any welterweight contender. Despite this, he is still unhappy with the outcome. He hasn’t watched the fight yet, but he anticipates feeling frustrated when he does.

“I’m tough on myself. I think there’s a lot of mistakes that I made,” Michael Page said.

“I prefer to go and get a big finish, and I wanted to knock him out. So yeah, I’ve got a lot to adjust and adapt to, but I’m super motivated to get back. Super motivated.”

Garry Revealed Page’s team offered $10,000

At UFC 303, something deceiving happened, which was sad to hear about their upcoming fight. It was a major drama from UFC 303 fight week, which was Garry’s announcement that someone from Page’s team offered $10,000 to one of Garry’s teammates at Chute Boxe for details on Garry’s training and strategy.

Garry has continued to point out this happening. He demanded some serious actions against the teammates of the Page that they tried to bribe his teammates. He was even demanding that Page and his coaches be banned from MMA for life. He, however, has expressed confusion about what Garry is referring to.

“If somebody in my camp tried to [do that], no, I haven’t been told anything,” he said.

Michael made it clear that it would bother him and be a shame for him if he did something like that. It was not disrespectful to his opponent, but he made it clear that he did not need the information to go against his opponent.

Page remains confident in his return to the UFC

Page Remains Confident

Michael Page is confident to show skills and ready to fight, as he mentioned, “One hundred percent [it’d bother me if it were real] because I don’t need it.” Page said. Michael is not currently working hard to be in shape, and he is not trying to hit the gym either. He mentioned that he’s currently enjoying his life on vacation but is eager to return to training.

He came out of the fight, did not suffer from any physical or mental damage, and plans to compete again in 2024. He’s ready to face any 170-pound challenger that the UFC lines up for him.

“I just need to get back in the winning column in true ‘MVP’ fashion,” he said. “I still feel like I haven’t shown myself in the UFC cage.”

“One hundred percent [it’d bother me if it were real], because I don’t need it,” he mentioned.
