Summer League Team Review
Sacramento Kings 2
A notable player from this first summer league exhibition was Adonis Arms from the G League. During the game against the Lakers, Adonis bagged an impressive double-double of 32 points, five assists, and 11 rebounds. Adonis could replicate his G League experience as an offensive player to take down the Los Angeles Lakers. With this performance, he could get a contract to officially play in the NBA.
To support Adonis Arms’ explosive performance was Antoine Davis. Davis is also a G League player for the Rip City Remix. Despite playing only one season in the G League, Antoine Davis played well against the Lakers to score 20 points. Thus, he could clone his good performance from his college basketball experience to this Summer League game. Also, he has the potential to develop into an all-round player.
Miami Heat

The Miami Heat draft picks weren’t in their bag in their first game against the Golden State Warriors. However, their 2024 No. 15 overall pick, Kel’el Ware, displayed promising results at the summer league exhibition. Kel’el Ware is a seven-foot center known for his offensive and rim-protection capabilities. During his performance against the Warriors, he clinched 12 points, six rebounds, and five blocks while making five of his 12 shot attempts on the field. This is Ware’s NBA debut; therefore, he could come out stronger offensively against the Sacramento Kings 2 team.
Pelle Larsson, the Heat’s No. 44 second-round overall pick, was nowhere to be found during this summer league exhibit. As a guard, Larsson made 2-of-8 shots from the field and 1-of-3 shots from beyond the arc. Though these aren’t great numbers, his aggressiveness and athleticism helped Lasson draw seven fouls. Yet, he made 3-of-7 shots from the foul line. Pelle Larsson can still improve his game performance to give him a better chance of making the Miami Heat roster next season.
Possible Breakout Players of the Game
Sacramento Kings 2
A player to look out for in this next game is Jordan Ford. Jordan Ford plays guard for the G League team affiliated with the Sacramento Kings – Stockton Kings. He also played two seasons for the Ontario Clippers, making it four seasons of G League experience. During his display against the Lakers, he scored 17 points and dished out six assists. At the G Leagues, he averaged 48% in field goals and 41% in three points made in 102 games. His offensive capabilities could give the Kings 2 team an edge over the Heat.
Miami Heat
The Heat lost massively against the Golden State Warriors. However, Cole Swider, a 6’ 8 footer who played the forward, scored 17 points, making four of his six three-point shot attempts. Swider has two seasons of experience at the G League conference, where he averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field and 46% beyond the arc. Though the offensive burden might be heavy on him, the 25-year-old forward could explode against the Sacramento King 2 team.
