The Sacramento Kings 2 vs. Los Angeles Lakers Summer League game will be held at the Chase Center as part of the California Classic.
The Sacramento Kings have two rosters for this game, and the first roster will face Team China. Sadly, the Kings fans won’t see their 2024 No. 13 NBA draft pick, Devin Carter, due to a left shoulder injury. However, Carter isn’t the only outstanding player on the Sacramento Kings 2 roster. There are interesting players on the team that could explode against the Lakers.
The most anticipated Summer League team, the Los Angeles Lakers, consists of solid players who could overwhelm the opposing team’s top potential and emerge victorious. Finally, Dane Johnson, the head coach of the South Bay Lakers, will lead this Los Angeles Lakers team this summer.

Since the Sacramento Kings don’t have their 2024 NBA draft pick on both rosters, it gives the Kings fans an opportunity to find another potential star for the franchise. The player that sparks the interest of basketball fans is Antoine Davis.
Antoine Davis plays well offensively and has good ball-handling skills. Davis averaged 25.4 points in his 144 games in college, making 40.8% of his field goals and 37.5% of his three-point shots. Also, defensively, the Mercy guard is decent, as he has a lot of defensive rebounds in his college career. He played one season in the G League but didn’t play many games for the Rip City Remix team. However, with his experience as a college player, he could emerge as an outstanding backcourt player against the Lakers.
Another summer player to keep an eye on is Fardaws Aimaq. Aimaq played center and forward for four teams in college and averaged 13 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 126 games. His defensive prowess awarded him the 2x WAC All-Defence achievement in college.
Also, Aimaq’s college stats show that he can help on the offensive side of the court, as he averaged 46.4 FG%. The 6’ 11 forward can protect the rim for the King’s team to enhance the team’s offensive capabilities. Finally, with this skill, he could become an NBA pro player.

The highlights of the 2024 Los Angeles Lakers Summer League team are the No. 17 and 55 Lakers Draft picks. These players are Dalton Knecht and Bronny James, respectively.
Dalton Knecht played 103 games in college for Northern Colorado and Tennessee Volunteers. He played on these teams as a small forward and shooting guard. The 6’ 6 Lakers guard is a great offensive player as he averaged 16.9 points per game, making 45.8% shots from the field and 39.7% beyond the arc. With this offensive capability, the Lakers team wouldn’t have to worry as much about their backcourt performance.
Defensively, the Lakers No. 17 pick averaged 5.2 rebounds per game, which consists of more defensive rebounds than offensive. Therefore, he could use this summer league experience to sharpen his defensive skills.
The USC Trojans guard, Bronny James, is the most spoken about in this summer league event. Due to his average performance in college and during the Mock Draft, fans of the Summer League have low expectations for this 19-year-old guard.
In college, due to his cardiac arrest ordeal, Bronny played 25 games, averaging 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds. Therefore, this Summer League event is a chance for Bronny to prove himself and exceed the expectations of NBA fans.
Possible Breakout Players of the Game
Sacramento Kings 2
Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we have Adonis Arms, who played guard at Texas Tech in college. Also, he was a rookie prospect in the 2022 NBA draft.
Currently, he plays for the Memphis Hustle, where he averaged 15.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. With good offensive prowess, he averaged 46 FG% and 36.6 3P%. Arms combo with Davis could create an exciting, dynamic duo to spectate this summer.
Los Angeles Lakers
A player to watch out for from the Lakers team is Colin Castleton. Colin was at the 2023 NBA draft and played at the South Bay Lakers. Also, the 6’ 11 center/forward is on a two-way contract with the Lakers franchise.
During his college career, he played for two teams, averaging 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 122 games, bucketing 53.7% of his shot attempts. Colin’s performance remains consistent at the G League as he averages 14.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game with 53.4 FG%. His experience and potential could make him outshine his teammates in this Summer League event.
