BCCI Finalize Arrival In Pakistan For Champions Trophy 2025

An ICC Board member said to the Indian media that they are expecting a high-profile match between India and Pakistan in Lahore on March 1. The teams from these two countries will face each other during the league game phase. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) submitted the final schedule for next month’s Champions Trophy to the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not taken a final decision on this.

There are a total of 15 matches played in three different cities in Pakistan, of which seven are played in Lahore. One ICC Board member said:

The PCB presented the outline of what would be a 15-game ICC Champions Trophy. Seven games can be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, three in Karachi and five within the city centers alternate ovals.

Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand play in Group A. England and South Africa Afghanistan and New Zealand are in Group B. All other participating countries have conveyed to the ICC that they are in favor of restoring the Champions Trophy. According to the board, it will take a final call in regards to holding the IPL after due consultation with the Government of India. This will clear India’s entry into Lahore and the logistics for their matches.

Champions Trophy Tournament Dates and Venues In Pakistan

The dates put forward for the Champions Trophy are February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day on March 10. The PCB had last month sent the ICC a draft schedule of next year’s Champions Trophy for final approval. The tournament is expected to be played in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

Lahore: Gaddafi Stadium, will host seven matches, including the final.
Karachi: The National Stadium (one of the semi-finals and three matches, including the final).
Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi will also host the other semi-final (five games).
