Brazil faced Colombia in the final game of Group D. It was a game that required the Selecao to squeeze out at least a point. Especially if they desired qualifications for the next round.
However, Colombia has been on a 25-game unbeaten run. And if game the was to be judged by a run of form, Brazil wouldn’t fare well. Nonetheless, the Selecao is a team stacked with talents and world-class players.
This is an edge, especially if their coach Dorival Junior can stir up the boys to unleash their brilliance. Dorival started with a strong attacking line of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Raphina, and Paqueta.
Colombia also had a team of attackers in the name of John Cordoba, Luis Diaz, and James Rodriguez. Being one of the most intriguing teams of the tournament, they were set on giving Brazil a big headache.

Dorival Junior is on the game

It’s a situation that happened in the game. In the first move, which was accidental for me, he ended up getting the first card. Everything that happened was very strange.
Recently I heard that Brazil had to learn to play without their big players. I think it’s time … Vini happens to be out, and unfortunately, we lost Neymar [to injury before the tournament]. We have to learn that at times, others will have to appear. We’ll have a difficult game against Uruguay.
At that moment, it would have been 2-0,” Dorival Junior said. “With the speed we have, the team we have, a scoreline of 2-0 is very different to 1-0. For me, it was decisive.
Especially because inside the stadium, only he [the referee] and the VAR team didn’t see the penalty. Brazil was once again put at a disadvantage.
More to come
Brazil will play against a formidable Uruguay team in the quarter-finals. It’s expected to be a mouthwatering game, as both teams are part of the Copa America contenders.
However, Brazil will go into the game without their star man Vinicius Jr. But Dorival Junior will be expecting his side to step up despite Vincius Jr.’s absence against Uruguay. And Hopefully, deliver a positive result.
