In an inconsistent and weird season, the New York Mets won their second of three extra innings games. The Mets have been through three extra innings games against the Nationals and Astros to start July. New York being in these extra innings games has been stressful for fans and their bullpen arms.
Some of those games have been due to the Mets bullpen struggling as of late. The Mets have also been struggling to get clutch hits during those games. While the Mets have lost a crucial home game against the Astros, they have gotten wins against the Nationals.
The New York Mets in extra-inning games this season have been inconsistent but could get better in their last two games.

Final Thoughts
These extra-inning games could be a blueprint for how the Mets have managed their bullpen and roster lineups. In the first game, the New York Mets didn’t expect rain to come and their rally was ruined by it. Along with the rally being killed, the Mets bullpen has also been a liability.
After an exhausting extra-inning loss, the New York Mets got through it again but rallied with home runs by J.D. Martinez and Jose Iglesias. Even if the Mets bullpen struggled at the end, they delivered the win. The game also is a sight that the roster was limited to those bullpen arms. Thankfully the Mets called up extra pitching arms for the road trip.
In last night’s win, the New York Mets did a solid job of coming back after being down two with Lindor, and Nimmo’s bats. The bullpen arms of Dedniel Núñez had done solid work for the night. While the Mets’ struggles are still here, and their problems could cost them extra-inning games, they are winning, showing fans these issues will be solved.
