Michael Olise is one of Crystal Palace’s top players – but not for long. He was a stand-out amongst the South London team this past year in the Premier League, not just for his squad but for the entire top flight of English football. He is creative, fast, technical, and smart, making him an all-around winger that any team would love to have – especially Bayern Munich.
That is why he is such a hot commodity during this summer transfer window. The young and athletic winger is considering staying in England or going abroad – a shocking move that will surprise many English football fans.
Olise Going to the Bundesliga?
Many rumors are floating around about which players are going where this summer transfer window, but one of the most surprising is that Noise might be headed to Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. Bayern Munich, coached by Tuchel (now, no more), had a good season last year, but they could have done better. They didn’t make it to the Champions League like Dortmund did and they didn’t perform as well as Bayer Leverkusen.
They are looking to rebuild their squad for the 2024-2025 season, especially with the likes of Olise from Crystal Palace.
However, other teams are currently in the race to sign the speedy winger, hoping to keep him in the United Kingdom before he goes to Bayern Munich to try and win the Bundesliga title and snag a spot for the UWCL.
Chelsea and Newcastle United are also in the running to try and get Olise to join their squads. Olise was a player in the youth academy at the Blues during his formative years, so that could be a huge selling point if Chelsea FC is to try and put in a bid to bring Olise back ‘home’. He joined Reading after his initial stint at Chelsea before he signed for Crystal Palace in 2021, where he went on to make a huge impact with the Eagles.
Olise made 82 appearances for Crystal Palace since signing in 2021 and has also made seven appearances for the France U21 squad as an underage player.
Bayern Munich Looking Forward
Bayern Munich ended the 2023-2024 season in a disappointing third place, losing out to second place by just one point to VfB Stuttgart. However, they were far off the leaders, as Bayer Leverkusen smashed the rest of the teams by earning 90 points on the year and having a 65-goal differential. In contrast, Bayern Munich had a 49-goal differential (even with the prolific Harry Kane on their team).
Now, they are looking to break into the top two for next season and make the UWCL. They will have the likes of Harry Kane as their number nine yet again, a player who is showing no signs of slowing down despite being a veteran striker at this point. Muller is an engine and leader in the midfield who has numerous years of experience. Neuer is a brick wall as the goalkeeper who will help them keep clean sheets.
Musiala is a young and driven German winger who makes a huge impact when he comes off of the bench. Kimmich is a creative midfielder who is a big-name player for the German national team. Other critical squad members, like Sane as an attacker, Goretzka as a defensive midfielder, and de Ligt as a reliable defender are key to Bayern Munich’s success going forward.
Will Olise fit in well at Bayern Munich, or will he choose to stay in England and go to Chelsea or Newcastle United?
Only time will tell.
