Furious Gavaskar Criticizes Siraj in Heated India vs Pakistan T20 Match

Siraj

Sunil Gavaskar was blasted at Mohammed Siraj’s no-ball during India’s win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup crucial game. Team India performed admirably under pressure to defeat Pakistan by six runs in New York.

Despite being bowled out for 119 with one over remaining, the Indian bowlers successfully made a great comeback. If they didn’t take a lot of wickets they limited their opponents to 113/7 in 20 overs. Ultimately, India secured their second victory in the tournament.

Impact of Siraj’s Poor Bowling and Fielding

Bumrah, named man of the match, made the crucial breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous Mohammad Rizwan in the 15th over. This put Pakistan’s hopes at risk. India, too, was frightened when Mohammed Siraj bowled a no ball in the 17th over of the innings, at a critical point in the run chase.

Siraj overstepped when Pakistan needed 29 runs off 17 deliveries. He gave a lift to the under-pressure hitter Iftikhar Ahmed. Sunil Gavaskar, the former India captain on-air during the event, lost his temper when Siraj crossed the line.

“Unforgivable. Professional cricketers, whatever they are, cannot bowl a no-ball. It is under your control. Wide balls are not always under your control, although no-balls are. Unprofessional and inappropriate at this level. No excuses! “ Gavaskar declared on air.

However, Siraj’s bad performance didn’t damage India much, as he only allowed two runs off the free hit. Even though Pakistan scored 9 runs off his over, Siraj had an economical bowling total of 0/19 in four overs. He was the only bowler to bowl all four overs and go wicketless.

Ravindra Jadeja was the other one, although he only bowled two overs for ten runs. Bumrah’s effort confined Pakistan to New York, but India captain Rohit Sharma wants his dangerous weapon to deliver consistently throughout the T20 World Cup.

A heated incident occurred during India’s T20 World Cup 2024 match against Pakistan when Mohammed Siraj’s aggressive toss struck Mohammad Rizwan on the hand. During Pakistan’s eighth over, Rizwan played the ball right back to Siraj. He set for a throw towards the stumps because he thought the batter had moved out of his crease.

However, the ball hit Rizwan’s hand and deflected to fine leg. This allowed Pakistan batsmen to score one run. Siraj quickly apologized to Rizwan for hitting him with the toss, and a video of the incident became popular on social media.

Coming into the contest, Indian cricket team bowlers delivered a disciplined effort as Pakistan suffered a 6-run setback. India was bowled out for 119. But Pakistan failed to capitalize, losing wickets regularly and eventually falling short of the mark.

Bumrah was excellent in India’s six-run victory. He took 3/14 in four overs and included an incredible 15 dot balls despite defending a lowly score of 119. Yet, it was the lowest total ever defended by any team at a T20 World Cup. The victory extends India’s lead over Pakistan to 7-1 in T20 World Cups.
