Toronto Blue Jays Starter With Extraordinary Start On June 8

Toronto Blue Jays Starting Pitcher Kevin Gausman had a great outing on Saturday.

Toronto Blue Jays Starting Pitcher Kevin Gausman had a masterful start on Saturday afternoon on the road against the Oakland Athletics. He tossed a complete game shutout and punched out 10 as the Toronto Blue Jays coasted to a 7-0 victory in the “Golden State.” Ten strikeouts tied the season-high for the veteran righty.

Gausman rebounded in Oakland from one of his worst starts of the season. He surrendered six earned runs over 6.1 innings of work and gave up three home runs against the Baltimore Orioles the last time he took the rubber. The Blue Jays exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth inning on Saturday and Gausman did the rest. Oakland only had three opportunities with RISP in yesterday’s game. They went 0-of-3 in those opportunities.

Gausman is 5-4 this season with an ERA of 4.00.

Kevin Gausman Career Summary

Gausman made his debut in 2013 as a member of the Baltimore Orioles. He spent six seasons in Baltimore before spending the second half of 2018 with the Atlanta Braves. When Will Gausman Take The Mound Next?

The next scheduled start for Gausman is on Friday, June 14, at home against the Cleveland Guardians. He last faced the Guardians on August 9, 2023, and had a great start. He tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out six as the Toronto Blue Jays squeaked by with a 1-0 victory.

Toronto has the final game of their three-game set this afternoon against the Athletics. They head to Milwaukee for a three-game series beginning on Monday. The Blue Jays have a talented roster that has not played up to their potential thus far. With nearly 100 games left in the regular season, the Toronto Blue Jays have ample time to turn it around.
