Garnacho the Argentinian international has already been awarded the BBC’s Goal of the Season accolade, and is surely a favorite for the club’s equivalent prize, with results expected in the next few days. Just one day after scoring at Wembley in the FA Cup final, he has even more to celebrate as his otherworldly overhead kick against Everton has won yet another prize: the Premier League’s Goal of the Season award for 2023/24.
Following the conclusion of the season, it then went up against the other eight Goal of the Month winners from throughout the campaign – a shortlist that included three other United players.
Garnacho’s Classic Overhead Wins Goal Of The Season
The Manchester United Goal of the Season award for 2023/24, presented by Tezos, has been won by Alejandro Garnacho’s remarkable overhead kick against Everton. Our 10-goal shortlist boasted a ridiculous level of quality, with at least four or five of the nominated strikes worthy of taking the prize, and a huge number of votes were received via ManUtd.com and the United App. Garnacho’s sublime effort was the overwhelming favorite.
Alejandro’s wondrous moment on Merseyside claimed a whopping 74 percent of the vote share, leaving little hope for any of the other first-teamers nominated. It has already claimed the BBC’s prestigious Goal of the Season award and has now nabbed the club’s equivalent prize.

Erik ten Hag hails Alejandro Garnacho for ‘fantastic’ strike but slams Man Utd for ‘easy-going
Garnacho gave United an early lead at Goodson Park on Sunday with a stunning overhead kick goal, drawing immediate comparisons to Wayne Rooney’s iconic effort against Manchester City. The 19-year-old’s wonder strike has immediately been hailed as a goal of the season contender and while Ten Hag agrees, he was not happy with the way his team played afterwards.
“Probably goal of the season. Also the build-up, not just the finish, was very good. The finish is fantastic, After the start of the game we were too easy-going. I criticized the team at half-time. They thought they were already there. You can’t do that. You have to do 100 minutes on the pitch. Second half we did very well.”
