Minnesota Timberwolves Survive Elimination With Fantastic Game 4 Win

The Minnesota Timberwolves survived despite being on the brink of elimination. Game four was a hard-fought battle, with each team giving it their all. The Timberwolves dominated for most of the game, showcasing their resilience. However, despite holding the lead for most of the game, it still came down to the final minutes.

In the final minutes, the tension was high. Fans were on the edge of their seats. Dallas fans were in anxious anticipation as their team was only a couple of points away from the NBA Finals. On the other hand, fans of the T-wolves were nervous as they were only a couple of points away from their season coming to an end. But in the end, the T-wolves and their fans could exhale as they survived for another day.

1st Half Summary: Minnesota Timberwolves Early Lead

The Minnesota Timberwolves started strong in the 1st quarter. They played good defense, forced the Mavericks to take bad shots, and took advantage of the Maverick’s poor shooting and absence of Dereck Lively. Near the end of the 1st quarter, the Wolves built a 12-point lead. The quarter ended with the T-Wolves winning 27 to 20.

The T-Wolves kept their lead for about 75 percent of the 2nd quarter. Then the Mavericks went on a run late in the quarter. Each team took the lead multiple times with over 4 ties and 3 lead changes late in the 2nd quarter. However, it was all tied up at the half with the score being 49 to 49. 

2nd Half Summary: Minnesota Timberwolves Win In Last Minutes

As the second half started, the game was close. There were two lead changes early in the 2nd quarter. The T-Wolves took a 3-point lead, and then Dallas held a 4-point lead midway through the 2nd quarter. However, the T-Wolves bounced back with a four-point lead of their own. Then it was tied again. Then the Minnesota Timberwolves finished late in the quarter holding onto the lead. They finished the third quarter with a five-point lead, the biggest of any team in that quarter.

Dallas made a comeback to tie at the start of the fourth. Then the T-Wolves pushed back, regaining their five-point lead. Dallas tied it again and then the  T-Wolves took a three-point lead. Then things changed. There was a series of four lead changes midway through the fourth quarter. Each lead change was within one point of each other. Then the T-Wolves managed to hold a lead of up to five points, then up to eight points with 1:38 on the clock. Despite their best efforts, the Dallas Mavericks were unable to muster up a comeback. The game ended with the Minnesota Timberwolves up 105 to 100.
