PSG Superstar Heavily Criticized Before Big Move to Real Madrid for 2025

PSG is a team that is full of superstars, hosting big names like Messi, Neymar, and other top footballers in recent years. However, one of their most well-known players is a home-grown talent that has risen through the ranks and made a name for himself as one of the most prolific scorers, fastest wingers, and incredible technicians in the entire world.

So, why would an entire fan base turn against their star player in their time of need? Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse at PSG after players left, poor results, and questionable coaching, it has.

PSG Superstar ‘Unable to Play’ and Highly Criticized

Mbappe is arguably the best of his generation when it comes to strength, speed, size, shooting, and scoring. He is a prolific goal scorer and winger who sets up goals, burns players when he takes them on 1v1 and has an incredible acceleration that is impossible to defend.

He has proven time and time again that he is one of the best to ever play the game, showcasing his talents for Paris Saint Germain and the French national team in international tournaments.

So, it is no wonder that he wanted to take his talents elsewhere. He has always played for PSG, and people often criticize the French league for not being up to par with other European set-ups, like the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and German Bundesliga. Mbappe needed more of a challenge to develop as a player and try something new – so he decided to make the switch to Real Madrid.

And, of course, the die-hard PSG fans didn’t like that. It was only a matter of time before Mbappe decided to try somewhere else, but the French fans seemed to think he would never leave Paris.

Because of this, they haven’t taken the news of his departure well at all. Mbappe is going to be moving from PSG to Real Madrid in only a few weeks, but the PSG fans, coaches, and city as a whole are making the transition a little bit difficult for all involved.

PSG won against Olympique Lyonnais in the Coupe de France Final last week in a tense 2-1 matchup, sending Mbappe out on a high note as he took the field for his final game with the club. After losing a must-win match at home for his final home game of the season, which was a shock, everybody wanted to see the young winger end the season and his time at PSG on a high note.

But there is tons of speculation surrounding Mbappe, the club, and the fan base that suggests he ‘checked out’ of PSG months ago. Mbappe has been getting less and less playing time under the current manager after news of his imminent departure, with many wondering if it was an ego move by the coach or a tactical move to see how the team would play once their superstar left.

Some pundits agree, with Daniel Rolo from RMC Sport stating that he thinks Mbappe has mentally moved on from playing at Paris Saint Germain.

‘Kylian Mbappe? I’m fine with hitting on him….for the past three, four months because we know how much he totally lost it in terms of raining….This year, we’ve dragged along a player who completely stopped playing six months ago.’

Real Madrid Looking Forward

Real Madrid ended the season winning La Liga, besting the second-place team – Barcelona FC – by 10 points. They already have a stacked squad, so it will be interesting to see how Mbappe fits into the starting lineup. He will have to contend, or play with, big-name stars like Modric, Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo to claim his spot on the pitch.
