Misfits Boxing: Former NFL Star Improves to 3-1 With Dominant Win

Former NFL running back Le'Veon Bell beat Tristan Hamm in Misfits Boxing

In the MF & DAZN: X Series 15 co-main event, former NFL All-Pro Le’Veon Bell returned to the ring against social media influencer and former powerlifter Tristan Hamm. Bell returned to the sport on the May 25 Misfits Boxing card for the first time in over a year.

Entering the fight, Bell owned a record of 1-1 as a professional and 2-1 overall with his only loss to former UFC middleweight Uriah Hall. The matchup marked Hamm’s second fight overall with a 1-0 exhibition record following a knockout win over Rodney ‘Not Logan Paul’ Petersen.

Le’Veon Bell improves to 3-1 with win in Misfits Boxing

Since his NFL career ended in 2021, Le’Veon Bell has continued his athletic career in the ring in celebrity boxing. In his three years in the sport, Bell has shown promise with a 3-1 record and is still just 32 years old.

In his fourth fight at MF & DAZN: X Series 15, Bell showed another level with a lopsided decision win over Tristan Hamm after surviving an early scare. Hamm caught Bell with a left hook early in the fight to wobble the former Pro Bowler, but after he regained his composure, the former running back controlled the remainder of the fight.

Hamm gained recognition on social media for his adventurous persona, often posting videos enjoying the outdoors by snowboarding, horseback riding, swimming or hiking. But for as active as his daily life is, his cardio appeared to fail him in the fight as he showed little to no energy after round one.

Bell visibly held the physical advantages and displayed improved defense and timing, dropping Hamm to his knees in the third round with a left hook. Hamm would quickly recover but could barely muster any offense after the opening round.

As with most amateur and celebrity boxing fights, the five-round bout featured a lot of clinching and wild missed punches, but Bell was evidently the more technical and experienced fighter.

After the official result was read, Bell credited Hamm for his toughness as the two put the facade of their bad blood behind them. As Bell improved to 3-1, Hamm dropped to 1-1 overall, with both fights being with Misfits Boxing.

Once his football career came to a close, Le’Veon Bell’s decision to trade his cleats for boxing gloves appeared to be the right one. Though he will never be a high-level professional boxer, Bell has found consistent success on the celebrity boxing scene and has settled into a profitable role with Misfits Boxing.

Bell is 3-1 overall but only three of his fights are credited as professional, with his fight with fellow NFL veteran Adrian Peterson being recorded as an exhibition. With Misfits Boxing featuring both exhibition and amateur fights, the 32-year-old’s Tapology page has him recorded as a 2-1 boxer.

Other than Peterson, all of Bell’s other opponents have had at least one other fight on their records at the time of their meeting. Bell’s second opponent, Uriah Hall, did not have previous boxing experience but had spent nine years with the UFC before making his initial walk to the ring.

Since his fifth-round knockout of Peterson in 2022, Bell has not seen another finish but has shown improvements in his footwork, defensive mechanics, and technical strikes each time out.
