Baltimore Orioles Ride Extreme Power Surge To Victory On May 25

The Baltimore Orioles used a late-inning surge to comeback on Saturday.

The Baltimore Orioles offense was held in check for seven innings on Saturday afternoon until their bats suddenly came alive when Baltimore needed it most. The Orioles homered three times in the eighth inning yesterday, and scored five runs total in that half-inning. This offensive explosion led to a 5-3 Orioles victory on the road against the Chicago White Sox.

Before the eighth inning, Baltimore was only able to muster three hits as Starting Pitcher Erick Fedde stifled the Orioles lineup. Fedde tossed 6.1 scoreless innings and surrendered only three hits while punching out six batters. Once Fedde was pulled from the game the Baltimore Orioles offense was finally able to find their footing. Right Fielder Ryan O’Hearn hit a two-run home run, Designated Hitter Anthony Santander also hit a two-run homer, and Third Baseman Jordan Westburg hit a solo shot to punctuate the five-run frame.

Baltimore’s bullpen had two scoreless innings to close out the game and take the first three games of their four-game set on the South Side of Chicago. Will the Baltimore Orioles be able to carry this momentum into their upcoming games?
